I've always found it strange that Gen McChrystal did an outstanding job in Iraq, which he most certainly did, but fell well short and was basically sacked in Afghanistan. I think that he was given the wrong task in Afghanistan, he's a SF's commander and not a normal operations commander.🇬🇧🇺🇸✌️

It makes you wonder alright, Worlds biggest military budget, best gear, Trained men, huge amounts of equipment, Support from multiple country's and we still couldn't beat the farmers in Afghanistan

You can only beat the insurgents if the local people are on board. You are talking about Afghan in your comment, which is a completely different ball game to Iraq. In Afghanistan, the local people were related to the insurgents so it made it very difficult...... almost impossible to be honest..... to defeat the enemy.

Nobody has been able to conquer Afghanistan because of the terrain in that country. The numerous mountains and hills, rocks.. It's not a flat desert so the enemy had the advantage out there not to mention they know the area well because it's their home. When it comes to the recent war in Afghanistan the locals didn't want to help so the country fell to the terrorists which is what the local ppl wanted.
