My dad when he was in the norwegian army he had to carry 1 browning m2 the bipod and 100rnds i think soldiers today has it mutch esier than old soldiers

apocalyptic survivor The MG74 is an Austrian license built variant of the MG42/59 that Beretta makes, which is in turn a license built variant of the MG3, which in turn is an update to the MG42. The MG74 has a heavier bolt that reduces the firing rate to 800rpm which preserves barrel life most notably. The MG3 in its basic configuration fires at 1300rpm, which is faster than the standard MG42 models.

Those weapons use cordite or gunpowder for propulsion so why not ditch chemical propellants and move to electro propelled ammo i.e Coil-Gun or Gauss gun has no recoil.

Actually, the Gebirgsjäger are just a specialized platoon in the Austrian army, which consists of mechanized and of "standard" infantry. He's probably not wearing his patch because he is a reserve soldier and used to train with the Jägerbattalion, I think it was 24(?), so he'd most likely be wearing that patch instead.

The rollout did start, but it takes time until everyone got one. The plan is to equip 3000-4000 soldiers per year.
