Alright internet sleuths, we all know it's fake and staged. @jamieandblake11 You've got something reasonably amusing to work with here but it's important to remember that timing and contrast can make or break any skit. A joke that goes on just a bit too long and repeats the same punchline in slightly different ways overstays its welcome, unless the repetition itself becomes the punchline. With only slightly more effort on the captain actor's part he could be selling it much better. He barely has any more bearing than the stolen-valor actor and just by having a good firm voice and posture without being so reactive it would have made for a much better contrast. And nobody's going to feel betrayed if you remind us in the description it's not real, for the students in the back.
