Military Security Clearance| what’s it like for a first generation American?

A run down on what my interview for my security clearance was like.
Since I’m a first generation American it was a little different but nothing to worry about.

I'm enlisted in the navy my ship date is set for march 2019. I'm originally from Jamaica, how long did your security clearance take ? because they said it's a possibility the my clearance may go pass my ship date.

Lmaooooo every person is looked it individually be careful telling someone “you’re in there.” Best advice you gave is be honest! You filling that form out incorrectly can absolutely be an issue! Especially depending on what you decided to not list.

What if you don't disclose your medical history to the military when you first enlist? Will that turn up during the secret/top secret background security clearance?

Warren I think it can for top secret. They do a more thorough background check. But if your parents was in the military and have you listed on their tricare then they will have access to your military records that way. People was getting separated in boot camp because they didn’t disclose certain medical information about themselves and the Navy found out

Thanks for the reply....For the people that got separated....Do you know if they got a dishonorable discharge or a general discharge(code 3 I believe) and how did the Navy find out? Did the recruit confess? Thanks

Warren I’m not exactly sure what they got charged with. I’m assuming medically discharged but I’m not sure. They ask the recruits if their parents was in the military while they were born. If their parents was in then they will have their children listed under their medical insurance so they will have access that way

Hey! I ship out February 22, and I accidentally left out two jobs that I’ve worked at in the past 5 years. Will that affect anything when I tell them about it when they call me?

It shouldn’t matter what your dad has. If you’re a citizen then you’re good

Pretty much security questions. Have I engaged in criminal activity? How often do I visit my parents countries blah blah that sort of stuff

Tom Lopez no. I didn’t have any late transactions and my credit isn’t completely terrible lol they just ask about debt and why you’re in debt
