It's a low cost copy wood burner... I'm fine with that. I'm loving mine. No cutting or welding to make one. Thanks much!!

I bought one, when I got it, the pipe would not go together. I called the company to get a replacement pipe but they said they would replace the whole stove. Works great. The first one, I done some work on it to get the pipes to fit (They did not want the first one back.). Have not used it so far. I am going to add some strips around the door to keep it from smoking up my tent . I put my stoves in a fire and burned the black paint off. For a Chinese stove, it works great.

Great video. I have a similar style stove. I upgraded the chimney to 3" with no damper on the chimney. It makes a huge difference. I barely get any smoke when I open the door to add wood. Also, I can now add full dry logs and it burns excellent with longer burn times. The door hinge/latch system need to be beef up also. The front damper controls beautifully with the 3" chimney.

How did you bump the factory stove pipe to the 3" stove pipe may I ask ?
@vicarofrevelwood3 жыл бұрын
$65 but you have to put another 40 bucks into it. These are the modifications I made to my stove. Number one: welded the rear clean out door shut. Number two: replaced the door hinge and spaced it so I can install gasketing material. Number three: replaced the door latch, I used a spring for the attachment so it would help close the door tightly. Number four: I went to my local Midas shop and had them make me two more stove sections, this was to improve the draft. And although they could not use two and three-quarter inch pipe they could expand the two and a half inch on the ends so they would fit. I was a little worried I would lose draft instead of getting what I wanted, but this turned out to be an unnecessary worry, they'll worked great. In fact most of the time I only use one of them. Number five: I had to cut the legs and I put self vulcanizing tape on the bottoms so they wouldn't poke a hole through either my belt tent floor, or the welding blanket. This was so I could use the tea kettle that came with the stove. Number six: I remove the screen in the spark arrestor which was useless anyway, and bought some roof drain caps that were made of stainless steel. I install one with a broom handle, and when it gets clogged up, I push it out throw it away and install another one. That's it. Works beautiful now, the only thing I really needed to figure out which I eventually did is whatever you open the front damper with you must open the rear damper equally. This is so you have both primary and secondary air.

Lol. The US military probably hasn't used stoves like this since MAYBE the Korean War at the latest. And when they used those for sure they were US made.

I too have this stove. I've experienced all the tribulations as all the youtube video's convey. I tell ya, I'm a little bewildered....I've had a darn good fire going in it but have yet to get a rolling boil from it. I don't know what the deal is. It comes close...close enough. All in all, I've enjoyed it. It works for the money so you can't ask too much of it.

Bro the whole time I served in the Canada infantry/commando We burned diesel or jp4/ kerosene never wood unless absolutely needed but most places we were there was more jp4 than wood. Good luck with that but it's not a north American military stove that I know of

Very helpful review, Dave. Do you think that once the factory paint burns off that a coat or two of good high-temp paint might help keep it from rusting and thus prolong it's longevity even further?

That's not a military stove that's just cheap Chinese knock-off garbage also doesn't take two to three days to burn the paint off of in fact it only takes a couple hours and again also when you pack the thing full of wood you cut your draft off which suffocates the stove and causes it not to breathe that's why the smoke rolls out of the opening of your stove you get what you pay for my suggestion is to spend a little bit more money and use what the military would use and that is either the G stove or the winter storm if you or camping.
@EricFB5 жыл бұрын
Got a similar stove. Stack is too small unless you're burning absolutely dry wood. If you however have good wood then you'll be fine. As for the paint I took a flap disc to it - stack and all. Not as good as the $400 stoves but a great option if you're thinking of making one
@logect_44773 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that I was going to get that for my tiny home but now I won't be sure of the paint .it probably has led in it also so be careful if you use it for food.

This isnt a military stove ....it never will be . The military doesnt burn wood, the stove pipe is vehicle exhaust pipe, the whole unit is a piece of shit. Its so poorly designed it cant heat a fucking closet. Used it for 2 days, the spark arrestor is way too small. the pipe is too small. the stove is too small. drafting is impossible, the air vents don do a thing. It burned a whole in the roof of my canvas tent. after 2 days it was falling apart, the door was hanging almost completely off. the door doesnt seal, the rack for airflow is worthless. yeah spend a few extra dollars and get a real stove , I reccomend the KNI-co alaskan

I'm in for 15 years...have never once come close to seeing anything that would burn wood. Fire gives away your position so it is completely forbidden. You stick your head in the dirt and shut your eyes for 4 hours and get your ass up. No hot tents or fires in the real world. That shit is for the movies
