Thank you Brendan. I'm a USN Ensign, a little under 5 years away from the transition, so this was very helpful.

Enlisted E-4 here, starting my MBA program in the fall. Accepted into all the schools I applied to. Stern, Whitman, RBS. Chose RBS since it’s closer to home with less travel which is great because I’ll be in ROTC as well (weird timelines Ik ik). I regret not applying to more top 10 programs only because I’m convinced I can talk myself into one. But I’m happy with my choice. in my mind it’s location location location.

how much does attending a service academy help the admissions process?

Another great and information packed video man that'll probably turn back to in a few years to plan out my timeline a little better. Could you give a few examples of thee kinds of internship options if any you had to choose from? (what fields were available and if they were branch specific).
@brendan53524 жыл бұрын
With the CSP/Skillbridge there are internship programs they can help set you up with (and honestly most of these were more blue-collar technical internships) or you can find your own internship. I found my own internship

Hi, thanks for the video. I have a Bachelor's degree and am thinking of joining the army as an officer. I want to get an MBA with a marketing focus. I heard I only need to be enlisted for three years to get a GI bill. Can I just enlist three years and then start my MBA? Or can I do my MBA while in the army?

Sorry if you already answered this by why such a short military career? Was that always the goal?
@brendan53524 жыл бұрын
It definitely wasn't always the goal, I was very close to staying in (and am staying in the Reserves). When I was about a year out from my contract ending I looked at all my options and decided business school was the one I most wanted to pursue

I'm thinking about enlisting in the Marine Corps for 4 years and obtain an associates degree in business while I'm in there. Once my contract is up I plan to use my gi bill to get my bachelors degree and then my MBA. Is this a smart move and is it reasonable to predict I will be able to obtain my MBA in 4-5 years after transitioning out of the military? Thank You.

You should get a 4 years degree first and then go into marines as an officer. MBA is expensive and GI bill only covers 36 months (wont cover both bachelors and mba) Also MBA will value military exp of an officer more than enlisted since its management. You can do ROTC or OCS prep while doing 4 years, so definitely would not recommend rushing into enlistment

I was managin people and programs as an enlisted. VR&E covers bachelors if yore 10% disabled and then use gi bill@@SH-vn6zh

Hey man, since I’m already a junior in college, I’m thinking of going to business school right after I finish my bachelors and do rotc for 2 years while I get my mba, and then commission. Would you say that’s a good plan or would you suggest going to ocs after college and getting an mba after my 4 years ?
@brendan53524 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your personal situation and why you want to get an MBA. If you're trying to get into competitive top tier fields/companies it might be best to wait and try and get into a top business school (which will be hard to do right out of undergrad). If that kind of thing doesn't matter to you maybe getting an MBA right out of undergrad is better. I would start with what your goal is and plan backwards
