I find the video interesting. The point being - as Dragoon Ride exercise revealed - that the military problem with Russia as the potential enemy is not the number of tanks and tactical bombing aircraft: It is to keep the highly mobile army units supplied - partly because where the supplies have to be delivered is unknown when they are dispatched. The protection of the trucks is necessary, as the army units want to be supplied as close as possible, so they don't have to disengage to get reloads and fuel.
@hanswurst67123 жыл бұрын
"Russia as the potential enemy" - good joke. When it would come to that war, then trucks dont matter at all. Because u know those things called nukes exist. @@PrograError You don't seem to get it! The point is: When you have the accuracy of delivery measured in a few feet a nuclear warhead becomes an expensive overkill. The real problem with nuclear weapons is that they are extreemly costly - simply because you want to avoid mistakes and the mad colonel syndrome. The "Broken Arrow" incidents led to a very complicated number of safety measures. The importance of trucks is that the normal firepower (especially in relation to the capability of the opponent) means that the forces are dispersed beyond the point where a tactical objective is economically unachieveable. To use the very costly and complicated apparatus to wipe out an armoured BTN with a nuke has no purpose. It is infinately more costly to eliminate the enemy tanks with nukes. The scenario with a large scale russian attack through the Nidda-Fulda gap - not realistic. The reason the Russian did not start WW3 was not that they did not know where the Nato nukes were - the possible launch sites were simply to many to ensure hitting them all. You could easily have forced the Danish Straits with nukes - so the Soviet navy could enter the Atlantic - but, then the cat was out of the bag - and the fleet would have been a prime target in close waters. The nukes lead to a contradiction in terms. You see how comparatively easy the Israelis whack key iranian personel.

Italians in WW2 used gun trucks with devastating effect against Americans in the battle of Kasserine Pass North Africa. They mounted large caliber naval guns on trucks these guns were designed to penetrate ship turrets from a couple miles away so they made mincemeat of the Grants Shermans and Stuart tanks the GIs were using Totaly took away the advantage they had over the Italian tanks

What does Russia advertise? New fighters (Su-35, Su-57, Su-75), tanks (T-90MS, T-14), helicopters (Mi28NM), Air defense systems (S-400, S-500), Drones (Altius, Altair, Hunter), Hypersonic missiles (Dagger, Zircon), Underwater drones with a nuclear reactor (Poseidon), Combat laser (Peresvet) and much more. What does Germany advertise? Military trucks ))))) When there are no new weapons developments, it remains only to advertise trucks
@questionmaker56662 жыл бұрын
@@maxsokolov6536 Germany has the Leopard 2, it can certainly call upon the USA who can offer similar things. Most of the vehicles Russia advertise are in small numbers or have a Western equivalent. But, the idea of a nuclear-powered torpedo is silly, just use an ICBM, it would cause nuclear war anyway. Lasers have multiple problems in warfare, its why the Chinese didn't bother. The Russians have capable systems we should respect and the West has capable systems that the Russians should respect. Also trucks for supplies are very important, as Russia has found.

Drone warfare in europe is kind of. Meh. I may underestimate this but hear me out. Anti Air defence and manpads are mass to everyone in european armed forces. Rather than Armenia. Not having mass manpads to soldiers. Is a defenceless ground soldier.
@xzarx3 жыл бұрын
@@doctorchaotic3415 Even private citizen can build super small and cheap camera-drones already. Now give them little bombs and some clever mechanism to automatically fly and search targets (which might be a challenge, sure) and you can create swarms of little drones which will explode. The technology is there already and will only improve. Classic Anti Air is not working against that.
