Thank you for bringing me to Wales for this important parade. Two fine bands and many fine soldiers, past present and future. My only wish is that there were more spectators along the first part of the route.

Why is there a goat?

The goat is the regimental mascot of the Royal Welsh. The goat on parade in this video, is the mascot of 3rd battalion of the Royal Welsh and the regiment have another goat for the 1st battalion.

The Welsh regiment was in Bridgend about 3 years ago, the mascot goats 2 of them was in the march, i got them on video, just recently remembrance the piped band led the parade, great to see them, and capture on video

He is very mannerly and solid, and handsome too. A credit to his species and to the regiment. (Well -- I'm assuming it's a gentleman goat. . . ) That must take the animal some getting accustomed to, all the percussion and noise? Do they raise and train them from kids to fill this position of honor?

The Spanish foreign legion have goat mascot that runs along loose with the soldiers on parade when its a kid ...quite amazing to see ,it seems when it gets older they have to tie and lead it.
