How come there's no comment with the marches?!? I must fix that! 😂 The marches played were, 1) 0:37-General Mitchell 2) 3:49-Punjaub 3) 6:09-Children of the Regiment (Regimentskinder) (Return to Barracks) 4) 7:19-Old Comrades (Alte Kameraden) 5) 9:24-Bravura 6) 12:00-Arromanches

Absolutely superb from the band and brilliant content as always. However, does anyone know why the side drummers and cymbal players don't retain their position within the ranks for the return journey of the parade? On the way to the castle the side drummers were to the left of the bass drummer but on the return they were on the right, is there a reason?

The band would countermarch to face about. This, by virtue of how it works, will generate a L-R mirror image of the whole band.

Lovely, Military Events. And you had such a beautiful day for it. Do you happen to know young Amazing Archie, who also loves to film the marching bands there? I wondered if it's him at 5.33 mins in your video.

@@militaryevents107 Oh yes it is! Also 'Alte Kameraden' and 'Klar zum Gefecht'! Great German marches which I'd like to hear more often from British Bands.

I realise the musicians now come under The Royal Corps of Army Music ,but, there seems to be quite a bit of "Depping" going on these days. A few Irish here with the Grenadiers?
@steveellis90652 жыл бұрын
The musicians are also frontline troops or carry out secondary roles as medics or drivers etc so you do get a mix up if they are required for training or operations
