people in the military are stationed away from family members for years regardless of weather or not we’re at war

I was on a carrier. Never got shot at or anything, but I was away from home, far away, for the first time. When I got back, I got this sort of reception. Difference was, I wasn't expecting the hysteria. I came out of the airport, and my family rushed me. Point being, when you enlist, you're miles and miles away, for extended periods of time. Sometimes, you're even in danger. Your people miss you and they're overjoyed, to see you back.

Its not the same, it shouldnt be done like this unless they are returning from a war. You dont see people doing this for other professions when they dont see a family member for a year or two.
