I’ve ridden in a blackhawk when I was deployed, and I’ve ridden on a chinook and worked closely with chinooks while deployed. Blackhawks are good, but the Chinook pilots are on a totally different level. I was amazed at how they could maneuver those machines

I watched a Chinook explode in half when my father was stationed in Germany in the 70’s. (I’m an old lady now!). All survived. It was amazing and very scary to watch. One of my friend’s father was one of the pilots on board. I just happened to be out walking on the back side of the Airfield and was out of the way of fallout. It was during the “Bader-Meinhof” terrorism regime.

Weicheier eure Navy Seals, der Hubschrauberpilot ist der einzige der hier was geleistet hat. Ca. 3 m über dem Wasser fliegen um 4 Leute abzusetzen, ist eine großartige Leistung. Aber aus 3 m ins Wasser springen, kann jeder 6 Jährige der schwimmen kann, das ist keine Leistung, dass ist einfach nur peinlich. Ich war bei der NVA Kampfschimmer, also die DDR Navy Seals und wir mussten aus ca 20 m höhe aus der Mi 4 in die Ostsee springen, das kostet schon Überwindung.

My Dad was a Marine Corp Pilot. We grew up at Bases, Airports, and must have seen every Air Show ever done. I use to love flying, when my Dad was the Pilot. I no longer fly, no longer safe. Most Commercial Pilots not Military trained anymore. This is really awesome.

Had a Blackhawk once pick up our casualties in Afghanistan while taking contact, 2 PJs hopped out with MP5s and secured our casualties while returning fire. Last time I saw a Blackhawk in person, 2011 was wild in Marjah, Afghanistan.
