Almost four years ago, Stephen & I (Jessica) moved to Nunavut, in the Canadian Arctic. Since coming to the North we have had 2 beautiful little boys, Gordon & William. There are many things that make living in the north pretty incredible, including the culture, the people, the extremely LONG summer days and the darkness of the winter months to name a few.

That's right! My friends South of the border in the U.S. don't have bagged milk. It comes only in cartons and jugs right?

It's funny because, although I do on occasion buy milk in a jug, I have had my milk come in a bag as long as I can remember. I wasn't even aware Americans didn't get bagged milk until fairly recently.

How long does it last once it's made? Does it have the same nutritional value as regular milk?

+LeeToTheVI It last for a while... milk in a bag is no different then from a jug or carton, but you can hold on to the freshness a little longer since in the large bag is three smaller bags so you take what you need, when one bag is finished you open the next...

Will the bag milk keep longer (unopened)? I shop once every three weeks and a gallon of milk (jug) will spoil before the next shopping day. Powdered (dry) milk cost to much (per gal). If I had a bigger freezer, I would freeze half on shopping day.

+cactus rat the bags are easier to freeze for sure... in a 4L bag like you saw in the opening of the video there are 3 sub bags so you open as you go through them, they last for quite some time. Milk in a bag once snipped/opened last for about a week.

No bags of milk where I live😃 I would probably spill the milk trying to get it in to the jug if I did have to deal with a bag😑

lol I think if I hadn't ever used bag milk, then I would probably think the same thing. But the bag is sealed until it is in the jug and then you snip the bag (small cut) in the corner (on one side - the one opposite from the milk jug handle). :).. I don't know if I made any sense... it's 2:26am here and I need to head to bed!
