stormvermin are so strong right now, and always, that other factions deal with them using huge nuking magic costing 20+ wom. they are already a top threat to deal with from the skavens ^^ when that is said it kinda sucks that all the "cool" units are instantly killed by swarms of ranged or 20-40 wom nuking spells :P

Is it a peasant or a knight? The peasant will rout before a skavenslave, at least the skavenslave has the black hunger to keep it motivated. A knight might rout before a plague monk, though at the same time maybe not. It's kinda up in the air depending on which bretonnian and which skaven, though I guarantee you that grail knights will not rout before almost anything in the skaven roster.

THose peasents holding back the stormvermin was pretty clutch to be honest. Had they been able to support Sniktch in his sigil charge on the enchantress then I think they would have won it. I think the skaven player forgot about them though, cause the peasents broke and they stood there for a little bit. Still amazing close game for real. Imagine if the deathmasters sigils had been used a tiny bot more sparingly for the nuke damage, could have changed everything. But I understand trying to catch the enchantress out when you can try to.

Mostly the Skaven player held back with the Sigil for way too long. Early on there were a lot of really good opportunities to catch the Fay and nuke her but the Skaven player didn't use it until the battle was already halfway done and then they proceeded to waste those first two sigils on long range casts. That's a lot of healing on the Grail Guardians that could have been prevented.

The player is stuck thinking about 50 different things in real time, having to adapt and make crucial decisions on the fly whilst trying to herd hundreds of rats/peasants. A viewer has zero pressure and the benefit of perfect hindsight, spread over 20 minutes of footage+unlimited comment time, plus the ability to re-evaluate actions and make decisions after the point they would have needed to be made. It's pretty obvious that it's easy to comment on how things could have been done better, from that position. Imagine if any of the top 100 players had this power, to watch their own 1st match before it had happened, and then change their plan and responses accordingly based on insights learned. The 100th place player would defeat the 1st ranked player every time with that kind of op anime nonsense on their side.

Yep, that's the way it is. I played every single Total War title till Warhammer and though being not only a Warhammer fan but also a history nerd as well, I don't even bother to buy Three Kingdoms and stuff right now. Historical titles can't compete with the amount of diversity among factions and game changers fantasy titles have. I think that's why they came up with that whole Saga series. It's a mix of historical and fantasy titles, but more or less a "light version" of both of them.

Unrelated questions ; are the slann mage-priest capable of wielding ALL lores of magic? Or are the likes of ruin, pestilence, beast/wilds (beastmen's lore) and vampire beyond their reach?

there are some magics that are directly tied to particular deities/races. A Slann could not wield Greenskins magic for example, it is entirely separate from the 8 winds and is its own unique thing. Skaven magic is much the same, it calls upon the realm of Ruin which is not something Slann can take part in, nor would they want to. They could very likely learn Necromancy and Dark magic and other lores, they just wouldnt. There's a lot more that can be done with the 8 winds and High magic that we dont see in TT or videogames, so there wouldnt be much of a benefit honestly. They already have all their bases covered by being masters of non-malignant sorcery

Skaven could have had that one but they started way too late with trying to take out the Fay. In the first five minutes of the battle there were like 20 great opportunities to Sigil and attack the Fay, but they didn't use the Sigil for like half the battle and the first two also were pretty much useless because the Deathmaster didn't have time to catch up. That's a lot of healing on the Grail Guardians that could have been prevented quite easily.

Liked the replay but another proof to a point that heroes and some other single entities need more attack speed, for a huge chunk of time Snikch was just sitting there getting hit by the grail guardians and not really fighting back.

That beginning was really frustrating, a lot of unnecessary damage taken by the hellpit early on and it just stood there. I don't think I saw a single vermintide either? like nothing even dropped in the back lines to hit the archers. Great reply though, the midgame and late game was just a lot of fun to watch

I would bring at least one death runners and one grinder against the brets. The snare ties the cavs down and if you can get 2 cavs, it would be so worth it. While snared you can combo it with death runner to debuff the cavs armor. Or you can use the death runner to sweep the backline ranges.

Ishkas triads are probably better against Bretonnia because they have halberds and the very useful clone summon while still retaining the armor sundering, but yeah death runners could do a lot of work if microed well. very squishy to cav charges though
