Millcast Episode 70: Shearing Day

It’s shearing day at Peggy and Todd’s farm. Relive the day at Savage Hart Farm as the fantastic Gwen Hinman shears their flock of colored Corriedale sheep. Many of the JFM staff and friends gather around the skirting table. Plus, baby Lewis makes his Millcast debut at 2 weeks old.

Congrats on the baby! I’m amazed at how seemingly easy Gwen makes wrangling those sheep around look. A question. I know lambing season is around now too. Do you shear the sheep before or after they’ve had their lambs?

We shear about 3 weeks before lambing begins. Getting all that wool out of the way helps us know what's going on when signs of labor begin!
