Thanks you guys for a great show and Peggy; I’ve been a button lover for quite some time and appreciated your chat with this button woman and look forward to her auction 😃👏🏼🦃🎉

Love this episode. My best childhood memories is my Aunt. She worked in a button factory and had a huge collection. My job when with her was to sort the buttons and work the treddle on her sewing machine while she sewed. Thank you for the memory ❤

Went to a tour for women at Williamsburg with a friend, and the tour guide (in character) chastised us for not bringing handwork because you are always supposed to keep your hands busy. I almost always have something to do in meetings

What about selling the clean wool to hand spinners? We can hand process the wool to get rid of the VM. Just a thought.

I had no plans of going to the fiber festival this year for a few personal reasons but there I was in bed on Saturday evening scrolling through TikTok when y/all came across my fyp. I thought I had to go if only to see these yarns in person so off I went Sunday morning. I'm glad I did because that's how I learned about the podcast and I've been binge watching it since.

Hi ladies! I recently found your channel and subscribed! I've been binge watching back videos the last couple of days. What a great place to come be surrounded by beautiful people and yarn and to get away from the craziness in the world,if only for just a while! You both do absolutely gorgeous work! Ìm in northern lower Michigan, but have visited Vermont a few times in my life. What a beautiful little corner of the world! I'm both a knitter and crocheter .

You could rip out the sweater just past the last increase maybe and continue from there? Also on the hat you could add a stripe below the crown decreases and graft the crown back on. You have to like kitchenering to opt for this idea!

There are 2 gals who run the Nome Schoolhouse and Bear Creek Felting company in North Dakota. Their KZbin channel is called "EweTube". They have a couple videos demonstrating a machine they have which makes sheets of felt. Also I agree with some other commenters who asked if the fiber is nice enough to sell to hand spinners, either natural or dyed in some exclusive Junction Fiber Mill colors (which should make some lovely fractal spun yarn).

Such funny stories. I had a similar experience with a friend driving her EV from Montreal to Brattleboro. Wasted hours and suffered from range anxiety too and she even did what you talked about and stopped someone else’s charge thinking if there were two adaptors two cars could charge. Unfortunately the young man whose charging she stopped was not as nice as you! Tempted to make a Mussleburgh hat now.

I always look forward to watching the Mill Cast when I get home from work on Tuesdays. I've made a few Musselburgh hats, and after using the called for cast on on my first one, I now just cast on the 8 stitches and use the tail to sew up the hole. I don't think it's noticeable and if it is I just make that side the inside of the hat.

Would you consider selling unspun Rambouillet to hand spinners? It seems like a waste for it to become insulation. I would also be interested in buying top or roving from the mill to spin myself, if you ever make that available.

I ended up adding more length to my finished musselburgh as well- worth the extra time and effort! Instead of undoing the crown, I cut into the body of the hat, knit another inch or so, then grafted the two pieces back together.

Hi Beautiful Ladies! I'm actually in the midst of my first Musselburgh hat myself (and I'm a very novice knitter) - What type of yarn are you ladies using? Mine is Fingering and it seems too 'light'. Love the Mill-cast - so happy I found you! 🥰

Makes you glad you don’t have an EV. Way too many problems and thinking. It is fun to just get in the car and go and not have to think any more about it. Some year they will make batteries that last WAY longer!

I just finished up two hats with Pict Wool- Hancock Rock Socks - tri-color Jacob Wool. It was great yarn to knit up.. Now I'll pair my leftovers with some leftover Making Tracks for a Seaglass Hat. My recommendation for fiber that you can't spin.. use it in wool pellets.. great fertilizer for the garden.. My neighbors at Again and Again Farm in Tamworth NH have a wool pellet making machine. I used it in my garden this year. It is great to help maintain moisture in the garden.. and it's supposed to help with slugs.. Keep up the good work.. love the mill casts.

Good to see you’re still laughing despite the hiccups! Can you do anything with the Rambouillet for hand spinners or felt artists? Or make JFM dryer balls or batting? I’m sure you’ll find a good use. Yarn Hero has some very cool dyed wool fabric/material that is partially felted that they sell. Your Fibershed probably has a million ideas too. Curious to hear what you decide. Good luck with the Dustland. Hopefully it fits - it’s magnificent! Since you’re taking the time to make sure it fits and are willing to frog, maybe even consider a partial block before the fitting.
