I heard that they grow so fast on Mille lacs that they don’t live very long. The lake is absolutely full of small Perch. I would think the bite would be good for a few seasons?

I’ve been quite upset about the amount of attention the perch on Mille lacs has gotten. I really want this to stay for many years. I’ve been chasing them for the last 3 years and have had some luck out there. The good news is that vast majority of people will not get out of their ice castle to actually get on top of them. Ya ya you can sit still over them but they will be gone as fast as they arrived so many people will just not be successful

They won’t be there next year on top of people taking limits of good size fish they’re keeping fish that aren’t keepers and on top of that they’re reeling them up so fast that the fishes air sack is blowing so when it’s a small perch you can’t release it back down anyway

Hopefully that limit gets changed down to 10. Otherwise the jumbos might not be around for too long.

Forward facing sonar is going to greatly affect fishing in the future. I dont care what the guides say. Limits will have to be adjusted downward. Its so easy now to find fish with it. I feel sorry for those fisherman in the future that cant afford it. I hear the guides say they mostly catch and release, that's its just a tool, but they guide their clients to limits day after day. Fishing will be much tougher in there future for casual fisherman without forward facing sonar.
