I can relate. My dream item was the Playmobil Victorian dollhouse. I had the catalog and would constantly go through it and write out a shopping list of what sets I wanted. I never asked for it because it was really expensive. Adult me bought it and a bunch of room sets a few years ago. It is everything I dreamed it would be.

I’m 18 and I collect American Girl dolls and I cried opening a few as well 😅 I saved up all my money when I was 9 to buy one, and didn’t get another until I was I was 14, and now I have 40 of them! There’s the most embarrassing picture of me at 15 crying holding a Grace Thomas doll that I had wanted for years that I got at Christmas 😂 I’ve been wanting a Caroline doll since I was a child (she became retired by the time I was able to get any dolls) but could never justify the price because all the used ones weren’t in good condition for their price. Just this month I commissioned a custom doll maker to make my dream Caroline custom (very similar to Caroline but with a custom wig and the Joss face mold) and I spent wayyy more on her than I could have on Caroline but she’s my dream doll and she’s custom made and I can’t wait to receive her 🫶

No shame in crying over Molly! I'm a 90s baby too, and I always wanted a Samantha, but never really asked for her because I knew how expensive it was. I pined over the catalogue too, and got the books, the computer game, the paper dolls. 100% was a little jealous and felt left out when friends had MULTIPLE dolls and accessories. For my birthday last year I got myself a refurbished Samantha bawled my eyes out! Since then I've been finding them (American Girls and Wellie Wishers) thrifting and antiquing for VERY good prices ($3 - $60 depending on the doll!)-- it's been healing, exciting and wonderful! I'm big on nostalgia and collecting childhood toys, so I get it! I'm so Molly finally came home to you and helped you heal

As your first American Girl doll, you made an excellent choice; Molly is simply adorable 💖, I say it as a italian collector: Molly is the most loved A.G. doll in my country; I have (and really love) her and all my friends, when see her, fall in l❤ve! I am surprised to see you so emotioned, but I fully understand your feelings: these dolls are too, too lovable, I treat my ones as real daughters. I wish you to enjoy as most as possible your new A.G. doll and wish you a happy and pleasant 4 July 🎉🎇!

And I'd add that these dolls don't deserve to be called toys, because they are much more: are true heirlooms for collectors. About your Molly, don't worry: I have the original Pleasant's release and, as I see, is identical to the yours; if there are any differences, they are completely disregardable; the really important thing is the love you feel for her: she deserves all of it, be sure. Regards.

This was so sweet and special. I teared up with you. I remember circling the dolls in the catalog. I used to want the ones you could customize to look like you. I also never got one. But my big toy I had to get myself as an adult was a tamagotchi. Maybe one day I’ll get a furby too.

im late to the party but this video made me emotional because i recently had the same experience with molly :’-) my mom could never afford ag dolls when i was a kid and this year I’ve gotten into collecting them and molly was always the one i wanted because my grandma had a pleasant company doll that i would admire, it’s so healing I’ve been watching your channel since i was in middle school. I’m now 23 and i still get excited to see new uploads! I’d love to see more ag videos in the future if you decide to collect

This makes me want to look on ebay for 90s stuff I used to have ♥ When I was in college, my dad got rid of my toys, VHS tapes, books and stuffed animals thinking I didn't care about them because they are old and taking up storage space. I was so pissed off and sad. I thankfully had some of my favorite toys with my mom but there were still a lot I would've liked to keep....... I'm so happy for you through! Thanks for sharing this moment. I think I might get emotional too if I find a cool toy I used to have or always wanted!

Saddle shoes were definitely the play shoes of the day. I’m not that old but I had to have saddle shoes because I had to have corrective shoes when I was young they came as saddle shoes. Lots of girls had just the black pair if they had them I had white and black and red and white. And I always wore them and I love them. I mean I was in high school and I was still wearing them the only time that you see me in any other type of a shoe was if it was a religious sacrament or Christmas. Her shoes really didn’t come about for quite a while. Plus, the rubber was needed for the war. Anything that Molly or real girls her age collected anything that was needed for the war.

In the beginning they sold for $75. The outfits were definitely less expensive and better made all dolls had a bed you could buy. And some sort of storage or closet for their clothes. And most cases they had at least one additional room of furniture whether it was a table and chairs, which is what I remember the most or something else. I don’t remember that generally went with the birthday party. They all had a birthday party outfit a play outfit Pajamas, some type of holiday outfit and I’m missing something and of course everything had accessories that came separately.
