Next Level is about the girls (aespa) going from KWANGYA (which is like the beginning level where there was nothing) to the Next Level which is KOSMO that's why Winter says "Show me the way to KOSMO" in the song. Also fyi aespa has their own universe which is apart of their concept since debut. SM Entertainment has created a whole universe that is called the SM Culture Universe with animation and cinematography very similar to the MCU so it's kinda like that. SM debuted aespa as the 1st group within the SMCU but there are supposed to be connections to some of SM's other artists such as N.C.T. who have mentioned KWANGYA a couple times in some of their songs as well as KOSMO other artists that are believed to possibly be apart of the SMCU are EXO a group that debuted with a concept that they came from EXO planet and are being hunted down by a villain or villains known only as the red force. In the SMCU aespa are like the heroes who are trying to save their universe and the villain they are fighting is known as Black Mamba. There is speculation that the red force might be a group of people and that Black Mamba might be a member of the red force. If you watch aespa ep.1 Black Mamba-SM CULTURE UNIVERSE it gives a bit of info relating to the background of aespa and the villain Black Mamba and where they came from. Also another thing to note is that SM has a group called SuperM (which has 7 members that were chosen from their main groups which are N.C.T., WayV, EXO and Shinee) which are a collaboration project between Capitol Records and SM Entertainment that debuted in 2019 and SuperM also has a collaboration with Marvel. They are called the Avengers of Kpop and there are hints that they also might be apart of the SMCU. Now we're just waiting on aespa ep.2 to drop. Aespa has an interesting story behind the group's concept and they seem to be telling us their story through their songs and music videos which also connects back to their series. Oh and Naevis is also explained a lil bit in aespa ep.1. SM's channel SMTOWN has also released 2 more videos titled SMCU the Origin and SM Leader film you should also check those out to learn a little more about the SMCU in order to understand aespa. Another video you should check out is How Aespa was formed in which someone kind of broke down a little bit about aespa. Oh also aespa is technically an 8 member group with 4 of the members being humans and the other 4 being the girls avatars that's why there is animation in here as well as their music video Black Mamba it's all apart of aespa's concept. It sounds kinda complicated but if you watch the videos I suggested I think that will help you out.

Awesome reaction, love the new setup! SM Entertainment spares no expense when it comes to its artists' visuals, from concept photos to music videos it never seems like money is an object. You guys would probably really enjoy the videos of SuperM, which is the agency's first "super group." The first video to watch would be "Jopping," and from there I think given your appreciation for visuals you'll be hooked. @@idkybuthereitis3704 and whenever SM leaned on the EXO planets thing too heavy like in the atrocious MV for the generic song Power, it just came across as goofy and cheesy) which was sad since EXO gave us 2 of the greatest boy group songs OVERDOSE and GROWL). Did SM plan to wait around for KDA ALL STARS MV and that artists Instagram to give them ideas to rip off ( then work with said artist after getting called out for it)? I can't wait to see how this grand planned universe all connects up with SNSD Lionheart and Red Velvet PEEK-A-BOO. j/k but trying to retcon things to stitch together a universe will be ridiculous and I've already seen fans of other SM groups not wanting anything to do with this silly gimmick. SM should continue to be known for great vocals, not this ill-conceived harebrained scheme. Aespa isn't a group from some small agency that might consider absurd gimmicks to get some attention, they're a Big 3 group and as such should only need a combination of talent and charm to find success. I don't want SM to pave the way for other companies getting equally stupid ideas. This just seems like a desperate move after NCT and SuperM haven't become as successful as the company had hoped (which is a shame because I like both groups, particularly NCT U and they've put out lots of good music -- NCT127 Superhuman should've been a massive hit based on the song itself).
