The only bad thing I can foresee is that all "Eyes Restrict" monsters would probably be Fusions. If their support would be built around the Fusion mechanic, like how Resonators are built for Synchro Summoning Red Dragon Archfiends, then it wouldn't be all that bad.

The card can indeed negate hand traps, and all the time as well, because they all send to the grave as cost, so you can chain to and equip them from the graveyard immediately ( thus negating their effects, i think)

The Chimeratech Duelist they didn't forget, only relinquished ever had that. Thousand eyes restrict never did so it makes sense that the new fusion wouldn't either. Relinquished needs something to make it unique compared to the fusions.

More like "If this card would leave the field, you can destroy a card equipped to this card instead". Protect it from a lot more than destruction, and it's much more versatile; get rid of a Parasite Paranoid, Rainbow Kuriboh, etc., or perhaps trigger a spicy Smoke Grenade of the Thief tech (assuming it doesn't miss timing) or something similar. And with the way I've written it (comma instead of colon), I think it'd be a continuous effect as opposed to a trigger effect.

The Chimeratech Duelist also relinquished's effect isn't "if this card would be destroyed..." its "if this card would be destroyed *by battle* ..." So the effect isn't that great anyway.

Trust me, millennium eyes can end up becoming a beast with a few equips and it's honestly not too hard to do it. I've faced against trickstars and altergeist with relinquished and the deck actually did good.

My only complaint is Millenium Eyes Illusionist being Level 2 and not 1. Relinquished was DA MVP in a Skittles Deck with Mystic Piper and Kinka-Byo. This just being Level 2 is like a Stain. Also they should have probably allowed Millenium-Eyes Restrict to just equip by itself as a once per turn effect as well, instead of just waiting on a Monster Effect, because it´s going to be a 0 ATK Monster that just sits there and the opponent can just normal and attack it most of the time. Aside of that, Konami is still bad at making Legacy Support but atleast Relinquished gets some Love.

How much can you all bet, they're redoing Yugioh. The whole series from season one while including these cards with the same animations from the DSD movie. Now, I would watch it in the sub sense I can imagine it would be like Vrain a little, with the same liking as the original, but also with the seriousness as Vrain. I know some wouldn't like that idea, but it would be interesting however sense the rules of the original weren't explain well enough and were made up along the way. It would be interesting if Konami did that, but it's Konami so likelihood they won't did it.
