Mets lost in 2000 but we were right there with the Yankees, and I'll always be proud of how far that team went. NL Champions is nothing to sneeze at, it's a proud accomplishment and that's how I look at it. Every game was close! LETS GO METS! =D

I don't wanna sound like a bitter Mets fan, if only because I'm a die-hard Yankee fan, but the Mets were the better & hotter team going into that World Series (yet the Yankees had all the pressure). If the Mets hadn't blown Game 1, there's a good chance that they would've won the Series

honestly the 1999 team was better offense and better bullpen, but their starters were better in 2000. In 1999 Mets scored more runs and gave up less runs.

He was very good. I hated that trade they made for Matt Lawton (C grade player) who didn't really fit in with the Mets. They should have either kept him for the remainder of the year or get Michael Cuddyer and AJ Pierzynski. That would've been a bit of a steal.

love this team but theres a couple mistakes in this video... the game Piazza got beaned by Clemons was a rain delay game... i was there. my one and only time in Yankee stadium, best seats in the house right behind the mets dugout about 3 rows up... was amazing... game didnt last 2 innings if my memory serves me correctly... i remember a brawl on the BQE lasted longer on the way to the game

It is so NOT our year. The Mets really suck this year. They lost all of their fight they had in them last year. Letting Murphy go was a HUGE mistake. Now Walker and Cabrera are solid players but in no way can they carry a team. Wright keeps getting life altering injuries, Duda might have the same issue, Cespedes keeps hobbling around, Grandy is a shell of his 2015 self, the pitching is in shambles with deGrom being the only consistent one. Don't even get me started on their trade deadline moves they made the other day...worst deals they've made since Jayson Bay. Jay Bruce is another Duda and it cost them their best 2B prospect. The organization clearly doesn't give af about you and has put itself in a very similar situation they were in in 2001. You better hope Conforto, Nimmo, Dom Smith and Ahmed Rosario become All-Stars and fast, or else it's going to be another decade before they make the playoffs again...if at that!

Agreed. I figured it had to be someone famous (though I couldn't recognize his voice) because, obviously, he wasn't chosen because of his voice-over resume. Turns out it's actor Tim Robbins. I'll assume he got the job because he had a major role in Bull Durham. I guess Willie Mays Hayes wasn't available.

99' team was better with Henderson and Cedeno. They would've most likely scored the run on the Zeile double in Game 1 of WS and set the momentum for the Mets - But you never know.

yup 1999 Mets scored more runs and gave up less runs than the 2000 team. Starters were better in 2000 but bullpen was worse than in 1999.

I love how the team that lost the World Series has a video taking you through their entire season yet the team that won the World Series got no such video. From what I understand MSG Network refused to make a Yankees season video because their contract was running out with the Yankees and they knew they were going to lose the Yankees to YES in 2002. And there also would not have been a Yankees season video if they had won the World Series in 2001, MSG Network's last year with the Yankees.

I'm a Mets fan so don't think I'm being a snobby sounding Yankee fan w this comment but the Yankees had just won they're 3rd straight Championship & 4th in 5 years. Just another season for them, while for the Mets it was they're first WS appearance since 1986.

Was at the playoff game 5 win (gave up Page/Plant and Who tickets to go but it was well worth it). Mets should have easily beaten the Yankees. Mets beat themselves in that series. Playing like shit this year.
