Ive never tig'ed with that machine, but burned hundreds of pounds of 7013 on a const site. Awsome lil machine you have there

@ncrdisabled Hey NCR, I got this machine for about a quarter what you would pay for a new unit from Miller. This machine is three years old, fully loaded with accessories and the seller was pretty hard-up for money. Prices really vary on region. Best indicator of it's worth is to check out local listings (craigslist etc) or completed auctions on eBay

@tjsnordic Hey Thanks for the help offer. I am already looking for a pedal. I don't like rolling off the weld with the thumb dial. I don't have a ton of time on a TIG, but I already know that the pedal is the way to go. Thanks for watching.

@zollermichael I really like the control as well... couple that with the incredible strength of TIG versus stick or MIG and its a winning skill to learn.

@Graveltrucking I plan to use this primarily as TIG. I got a few dirty rods with it, but will not use them and will go with new clean rods. This machine is primarily for stainless and carbon, not aluminum. I guess I could stick aluminum with the proper rod, but to really do aluminum I would have to upgrade to the Dynasty or other specific model. This machine comes highly recommended and I will surely put it to the test.

@dzlfreek I have heard good things about this exact machine, and Miller is a trusted name in the industry, so I am hoping for a long service life. Thanks for watching.

@CCSinventions Oh man, you will see what great machines these Millers are. My welding guru uses Miller machines all day, every day and swears by their welders.

@fritzhvac Hey Mr Fritz, Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I can't wait to put this Miller to work. It is in exceptional shape. I have been looking for a long time for a TIG...I am a patient man and waited until I found the right deal. Take it easy my friend and I hope I continue to entertain with my future videos.

@lundgj1 I am interested to work with it as well. While it doesn't TIG aluminum, It sure will do everything else I could ask for. Thanks for watching.

@2LateIWon Hey 2, I have been waiting for the right deal on a TIG for probably three years. A plasma would be a great compliment, but like Santa says...not in the cards at this time LOL. I keep my eye on the local ads though, never know when one will pop up. Thanks for watching.

@sweet1963bug Great comment. I was amazed at how small this welder is, but everything I have read, and talking to real people who use them daily will swear by their abilities, regardless of their small size. I will really capitalize on how easy it is to transport. I am already designing a carry case for it and all its accessories. Thanks for watching.

@redneckbryon Hey Bryon, Welding has been a very good skill for me to learn. Saved a ton of cash and made a few bucks over the years by knowing how to do it.

I have had my Maxstar STL for years. I only TIG with it. Always runs great. Today it was working fine then after a while of welding TIG on some farm equipment, the thumb control would not turn on the High Freak or gas... wondering if its just the thumb control that maybe has gone bad... any ideas?
@yourbeekeeper Жыл бұрын
I would suspect the connection first on the cord that goes to the machine...those little wires and pins are easily damaged and get dirty. The actual control would be my second suspicion. Hope you get it sorted out quickly.

@yourbeekeeper Curious to see this little machine work you may want to consider doing small ornamental metal working.

yes, it welds better on 220, but works well on 110 too.

@AVTreasures Hey Ray, Mike & Ike's or Hot Tamales are perfect road snacks. LOL. I am stopping on my way home from work to get a tank of gas and should be burning metal tonight. Will make a video. Take is easy this season Ray and have a great Christmas.
@Graveltrucking13 жыл бұрын
I would keep it as a dedicated tig, did you get any fill rods ? Definantly good for the light metal, doing aluminum and stainless work. Never seen a tig welder that small it is good for what you are doing thou. Yep you need pure agron a mig mix isn't clean enough for a sheilding gas.
@yourbeekeeper13 жыл бұрын
@Graveltrucking I figure I will use it mostly for personal metal fab projects. I am sure it will come in handy now and again for work, but not it's primary purpose.

@mbyr31 Hey Matt, I am sold on their abilities, but you're right, you get what you pay for. I have been looking off and on for probably three years for the right deal, and yesterday was the time to strike. Price was right and the machine is very clean. I will be getting some gas today and making a vid of it in action. Let's see how much I remember.

I remember when this video was hot off the press and not once did I think I would end up with the exact same welder as yours 8years later beekeeper but me thanks that you got a better deal I paid 680buck for mine is there any do and don't with this thing I need to know about what it capable of I figured you would know more than me
@yourbeekeeper5 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, This has been a very capable machine in both the TIG and Stick applications. I'm very, very happy with it and would absolutely buy it again if I had to. My best advice is to know that it functions better at 220v than 110/120v.
@lundgj113 жыл бұрын
Very cool! I'm interested to see how it works out. Too bad it doesn't do aluminum.

Hey man nice welder, I have the exact same one, and it still has the original plug cord on it, which is 120 v , My question is can I just cut that plug and put a 220 on it? Or do I need to change that Hal cord??
@yourbeekeeper5 жыл бұрын
If it's the same model as mine, You can cut and put a 220 plug on the end. The machine is smart and will sense if it's 120 or 220. I suggest to search the schematic for the power cord to be sure you hook up the hot wires to the correct color of the factory cord. I kept the Edison 120v plug that was on it, and made a short jumper cord with the female Edison 120v and a male 220v so I have power source options.

Did you find the og plug
@yourbeekeeper6 жыл бұрын
Nah, Miller would only sell an entire cord with the plugs and it was expensive, so I made an adaptor that goes from a 110v Edison to the 220v twist plug I have in my garage... total cost was about ten bucks.
