Dude! You are doing some serious craftsman work here. I have a lot of admiration for anyone that is willing to go all the way on a project like this. I’m looking forward to seeing how this project come together.

Hello I had a 1956 22ft airstream I got in Idaho in 1978. I'm looking at lifting the shell to replace the subfloor. I was looking at the rivets in the internal rear and notices that the center panel was the last one to go on and it has solid rivets. How do you do those on the inside shell? Regards Ben

Do you apply any seal or glue to keep it water tight?

Hi love your videos! They are very well done and informative. I am getting ready to replace a panel I was wondering what kind of sealant you use for this type of job? Also, do you apply it between the overlapping metal sheets as well as the rivets? your input would be greatly appreciated.

I bought airstrem trailer at auction. Can you advise me where to start restoring it. Do I need to disconnect the cab trolley?

You mentioned using Olympic rivets on a repair like this with no interior access. Would this panel be considered structural and are Olympic rivets up to the task?
@MillerGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yes, olympics are just fine for this panel when you can not access the backside.

Hi, great video, thank you. What gauge and type of aluminum are you using?

Whether you’re rehabbing the whole trailer or replacing an exterior panel, do you seal the exterior skin panel seams to make sure it’s watertight?
@hakim1003 жыл бұрын
You ever get an answer to this?
@lindamanjc3 жыл бұрын
@@hakim100 I didn't...still very interested in best practice/experience to make sure seams are water tight!

I need to replace the one in front of that one and the one above it. Yeah, I was forced to jack knife my Airstream.

Dude! Get yourself a kneeling pad or make that pallet in to a table! Your knees will thank you in a couple decades... Otherwise, great work!
