Here in NL we catch crayfish with our hands in a riverlake and make a crayfish boil. We also fish on the rod for Zander and Perch, very tasty freshwater fish, and a good sport

One of my weirdest catches was, I was going fishing at the Little White Salmon River in washington, and I chucked my line out just for a moment without bait, and reeled it in from along the bottom slowly, and I happened to catch a crayfish right through the pincher. That was a great snack before catching 2 salmon 1 hour later. We cooked it up right on the river, in an open fire.
