I got the 6" Memory Foam and been using it frequently for the last year, and its actually good for my back, and not too hard in my opinion

Is the memory foam soft? Thinking of getting just the fact you can fold it and have more space in my room
@doomzillah

@@bruteforce1996 Its pretty firm actually. I've been using it for a couple years I think now. On the floor you'll have to get used to the little creases where it folds (did that for a year or so). I have it enclosed in a frame now and I dont notice them.

There's an adjustment period; it can take as little as a few days to as long as a few months for the body to adjust to sleeping on a firm/floor surface. Pain can be experienced during this period, especially at "contact points" between bones of the body and the firm/floor surface. If a person is used to sleeping on soft beds, the bones in the body must learn to naturally support the body in alignment when on a firm surface vs a soft surface providing that support for the body. It seems that the body falls out of alignment often during the day when it is used to sleeping on a soft surface at night, which leads to pains in different areas of the body. But once that adjustment period has passed, I've heard it becomes the preferred sleeping method for most because body pains have been diminished - i.e. back pain, sciatica pain.

Or you can just get the Teton XXL cot mattress and be good to go on your first night.

The milliard 6 inch thick is getting better reviews. I think it also comes in a cot size. Thx for the video.

Excellent review - very helpful. Thank you! Was thinking the 6” might be a better choice than the 4” for use on the floor.

Yes! I agree. I have the 6" thick that I sleep on in my toy hauler. I always wake up with back pain after.

Wish I had seen this before I purchased. I’ve been using it in my truck bed tent. It is so firm! And my hips are always hurting when I wake up.

Get the 6" instead. It's apparently a lot softer and feels like a bed.

The back pain is from the cot, I don’t think the mattress can fully mitigate that.

It's just not right for the application I'm using it for. I tried with both a Ridgeside camp mat beneath and an REI inflatable on top. Also with a rug gripper. It just ends up being too much flopping around. I've since bought a Teton XXL cot pad and it's much more comfortable, surprisingly. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks, please do. I'm not super-happy with this thing. It's a little bit better with the 1 inch "topper" that came with the cot... but still not super comfortable. I'm again reevaluating my sleep system LOL. Thanks for your comment. Don't forget to subscribe so you'll be the first to know when we come out with new content!

Yes! Check out my other review on the Teton Sports camp cot pad and camp cot. I like it so much that when we sold off our camping gear in preparation for a cross country move-- it was one of the first things I repurchased. Better than my bed mattress!!

@@hardcorecampinggear not sure my last comment went through because I added a website link, but I ended up going with the Milliard Foldable Memory Foam Mattress with Washable Cover, Cot - Medium Firm, Grey (75"x31"x6"). Hopefully this is a bit more comfortable at 6". I just bought a Teton hydration backpack that I love, great price too.

I'm of similar age and build and also could not get comfortable on it. I woke with knots around the shoulder blades oddly enough. I thought it was just a memory foam vs traditional...I sleep better on the ground with a camping pad.

Why not just get the 6 inch mattress
@hardcorecampinggear
@hardcorecampinggear 3 жыл бұрын
The four inch had the most positive reviews and with six inches on top of a cot, I was worried it would be too easy to roll off. I don't think it's the inches that makes it uncomfortable but rather the stiffness. And yeah.. ."that's what she said." ;)

You say in the end that you think the "geezer issues" came more from the cot than the mattress, and if that's the case, then why did you leave "it hurt after the first night" in the subject title for your video? Seems like an unfair slam just to get views... #CLICKBAIT
