First of all, just search on Wikipedia: Insular Govt of the Philippine Islands and this is how the English version of national anthem started titled as *The Philippine Hymn.* Second, just ask your parents, grandparents, teachers or whoever it is if they still remember back then. Also, my mother still remember the English version until now. And third, _Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas_ (Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag) was already here long time ago and now they finally revived. I was in grade 7 high school student back then when they revived that... Clarification: I think only in school in my place was revived. But still, check it on wiki when they started it said in 1996.

I understand how this feels but in my dumbass case, I have learned the Spanish version and have been singing it as a class requirement for my students. Yes, I'm an instructor in college and I forgot to English version of the anthem as I now shift between Filipino and Spanish for Rizal and philippine history classes.
