Still lean. In 2013 2014 an 8lb fish was just ok, didn’t raise an eyebrow. Social media is over emphasizing a few good fish but the lake isn’t 25% of what it used to be. I’ve been throwing big baits exclusively on the lake since 2005

I was night fishing other day. Hooked my biggest catfish of my life. Also a bass that would kill the Illinois state record. I hooked him and got me wrapped around a stump. This night time too. This large mouth was easily 30 inches plus. For 2 hours it paced back and forth on bank looking for my grub. But it took my last one. I couldnt get it to hit on anything else.
