The descendants of an ancient breed of cattle that lived in the Nile River Valley around 4000 BC, Ankole cattle are known for having the largest and widest horns of any cattle species. They have been seen in Egyptian heiroglyphs and are often referred to as the “cattle of Kings.” 0:30 [Philadelphia Zoo]

Did you say kwitera to refer to that process of preparing the milk pot? I saw my late grandma do a similar thing using special roots and the name for that process has a similar name, save for a slight variation in pronunciation. I couldn't help but notice the similarities in how you tend to your cows during the milking process. This is from the way you tie the legs to the serenade. We have similar practices though many miles apart. Am a Bantu from Kenya, meaning we have a common ancestry.

O my dear Lord Krishna :) also known as 'Gopal' which means 'the one who takes care of cows' ! In India we call them Gau Mata which means 'Mother Cow'. Almost Identical customs :) Traditionally the baby has right to her 2 udders milk atleast ;) We have about 40 Indian Indegenious cow species, we are trying to preserve. I come from the state of Gujarat, in West India. We have the Beautiful 'Gir 'n the Fierce n Majestic 'Kankrej'. Your Lovely Ankole is similar to our Kankrej because of the horns !!
