Wow this video is very very informative. Those who breed local animals also preserve the genetic diversity of African indigenous animals. 10% local breeds in a large farm would also be a great service to Africa until such a time decades from now when some rich Africans can collect them and out them in one huge farms to breed them in large numbers for local consumption. I have learned a lot about goat farming from watching this video compared to so many other videos. I don’t mind investing in someone trustworthy doing this to help save the local breeds someday. Thank you very much for making this video. You are patriots doing Africa a great service by playing your part. People like you should be in the national ministries of agriculture as politicians or civil servants across Africa so you can have power to make a difference. Respect. 🇳🇬✊🏽

I was able to buy land 7 km from a small village. The area is very poor but we are trying to build the feeding area. We will try rotational grazing 15 goats on 2 acres divided into 4 plots. Each plot is only grazed 1 week. We are planting 5 acres of sorghum this month to supplement grazing.

I have one question though. I saw a video of goats in a pen or shed that is exposed to the elements without walls. Is it their temporary day time pen? If it’s a permanent goat house. Can’t the cold in the rainy season or the harmattan season kill the animals or their young ones? I was a city kid who live outside of Africa but one with the environment. One can’t obviously learn enough about rural Africa during Christmas visits to the villages especially if what you call villages have become mini cities or large towns and you have to cover a few miles or many KM to get to the farm steads and hamlets. Thank you.
