Right off the bat, the cinematography hooked me in along with the opening credits and title merging with it. For me, Black was the star of the show! Pretty good character. Felt believeable and also that he truly believed everything he stood for and was saying. He technically doesn't owe Kevin anything, yet was so selfless towards him, trying to steer him in the right direction. To "save" him. Speaking of saving him... I've got that analytical eye lol, so I wonder if this shot @ 16:17 with a green tint is a reference to The Matrix? Similar to the hallway shot where Neo fights the Agents against him. Neo was also called 'The One', or seen as a saviour. And here, in A Letter To Black Men, Black saves Kevin from the road life. Another great shout is the narration. At some points, I was literally saying, "Facts!" and "Preach!" lol. All in all, great short film with some profound moments and a good message. Nice work. Congrats to the whole team!

You said Black technically doesn’t owe Kevin anything. Kevin’s sister told Black that he’s the reason Kevin doesn’t have a father. I think Black may have played a role in Kevin’s fathers death, so he feels remorseful and does owe him.

Being black is beautiful, their sunshine skin matching with the brightest smile all energetic dancing and Singing like angels from heaven above Jesus made us for a reason. Amazing film 🙌🏾. It says a lot about young black men; the way they behave in a criminal and gangster way, which makes it seem cool. Selling drugs and committing petty crimes to fit and making money the illegitimate way just to show off and flash them clothes that are expensive. Thus, black men are rarely listened by anyone especially black woman because they don’t see and understand the meaning of black male struggle. However, when they want favours, money etc, that’s when they want to be there. A wake up for everyone!

The film indicates the lack and need for real male role models as parents for black men. These young black men probably never had normal, real men in their lives and have not been taught to work a real job, get their education, be responsible, be considerate of others, life lessons have been missed due to a lack of a real black male parent in their lives.

Love this short very well produced with a important message about life and making the right choices, we all make mistakes but if its in your own hands to fix it then we do, plus it's easy for kids nowadays to easily get influenced by materialistic things because that's how society has become fast money, fast car etc but it goes just as quick this why we need real role models to teach the kids them
