Chris, one of my subscribers here highly recommended I pick up some PB Swiss tools and also recommended www.toollady.com to get them from. I can definitely recommend her store after doing these three orders, her customer service is fantastic! These tools are pricey and at the higher end of hand tools but the quality definitely shines through. These are 100% Swiss made and have an unlimited lifetime warranty! That's not something you see every day but after using the tools I can say that they're able to do it because these are extremely high quality and heavy duty. For a tool that lives in my pocket and I use more than almost any other, having a great experience using it is a real pleasure every day!

I’ve been buying pb for years, actually back when they had a branch in the US. The brown paper packaging yours came in were packed by your tool provider, normally they come in nice plastic bags in a very nice branded cardboard box from PB themselves. Sadly since they closed the US branch the prices have absolutely skyrocketed from greedy sellers. Ratcheting driver is like 68 dollars now lol when it used to be like 25$ direct from Pb Swiss Georgia

I have the stubby ratcheting, unbelievable good tool. The other tools I own are screw drivers, electrical and general use and a set of bits. PB Swiss makes the other brands seem like the tools that come in a child's tool box. I love mine.

I use all PB swiss screw drivers, precision screw drivers, hex keys, punches, and bits daily at work building 3d printers and I have fastened well over 20,000 (my calculations about 8 months ago) stainless 3mm screws. Bit is still flawless, (I posted pics in r/tools a while back) everything has been Supreme quality and the only wear to speak of is the white pb swiss serial number on the grip of my bit holding driver. I kind of like that it is cost prohibitive and people do not know about them. I enjoy watching people discover wiha tools/screwdrivers and seeing them think that is top quality lol They do not know what else is out there and that's fine with me.

For working on my rifles (older models, mostly slotted screws) I bought a set of their flathead screwdrivers, they have a parallel design, which is way better, more secure then the regular conical design you find anywhere else. Since I use these I have no more damaged slotted screws.Just one drawback is their limited distribution, you don't have a lot of stores carrying them, and as you mentioned looking at a picture is not the same as being able to compare straight away. I only have experience with Facom for screwdrivers and PB is just at different level, I've no experience (yet) with Wiha or Wera
@Societaet
@Societaet 2 жыл бұрын
this is spot on. the flathead design is special. i know only one other brand that uses or used the same parallel desgin. walter schröder (i guess they don't sell anymore to private customers) flat heads only buy pb or schröders (which are also old connex if its marked made in germany) on german ebay. BUT i wouldn't buy any other hex keys than wera. the hex plus is by far the best system. no idea how easy it is for you us guys to get garant hoffmann stuff but they sell pb swiss tools in garant hoffmann navy/orange its the same tools just a bit cheaper. atleast for us germans. oh and yes pb's magnets are the strongest.

I've had the longer ratcheting driver for about 4 or 5 years now. Its my go-to screwdriver and has held up very well. The only issue that I have is that the ten bits included were mostly not that useful for me. As I recall there was only one number 2 Phillips and two straight blades. A lot of torx(not so useful for me), a few squares (again not too useful) and a #2 posidrive that i get mixed up with the Phillips quite often. My wera has more useful bits, in that it includes a variety of Phillips sizes. Maybe nit picking. But I use the tool with other company bits when I need something thats not in the handle. Its that good. Enjoy and thanks for the video
@MillisConstruction
@MillisConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely depends on what you do with it. I ordered a handful more bits with it that I use when I bought it and just built my own setup out in it. 10 bits is a nice range in a driver

Love PB Swiss. Do you do any micro electronics work? Check out their ESD precision drivers with the turnable cap. Smoothest action I've felt on one of those turnable caps, makes the Wiha ones feel cheap by comparison. The grip material (same as the drivers you showed today) also give really excellent, precise control.

It took about a week to get used to id say. It’s holding up great so far though and the extra few bits have been really handy when I’m a long way from the truck. Are you planning to get a Halder Simplex? also... take a look at a mafell P1cc precision jigsaw. It is by far the best jigsaw I ever had. Makes the festool look like harbor freight in my opinion.
@MillisConstruction
@MillisConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
I have a Halder BasePlex on the way from KC Tool right now, Ive looked into the Mafell, but to be honest I really want a battery powered jigsaw badly, I use one so much without dust collection that having a cord is just a pain. To my understanding Mafell doesn’t make a cordless version yet?
@thegloriousretardmagnet4257
@thegloriousretardmagnet4257 2 жыл бұрын
@@MillisConstruction no they don't make a cordless version yet. But please stay far away from any festool jigsaws. they are awful. It's the only festool product I wouldnt ever recommend. The one I use at work had about 1-2 mm of sideways play in the thing the blade goes in after only one year of use every now and then. Can't cut straight at all. It has power, wich is nice, but it gets unprecise very very quick. Also happened to the one we had before. So a Festool jigsaw won't happen again any time soon for me.

how does the handle feel since there is a pop out that holds all the bits on that swiss? i’m thinking of getting that and the long Wera but i keep thinking i have to be super careful when tightening screws with handles that have the bit holders within them, and worry that i’ll twist them apart with too much torque. are they super sturdy and solid feeling still even though they have bit holders?
@MillisConstruction
@MillisConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have any of that feel with the Pb. There’s no flex in it that I can tell. Way stronger feel than the Wera for certain. It’s a heavy duty driver.
@MillisConstruction
@MillisConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
@@htr5372 I disagree. Mostly because I carry this driver on me and I’m not going to carry a bit box along with the driver in my pocket. That’s a massive inconvenience and can end up having one missing when you need it. I like an all on one tool setup for my pocket driver.
@MillisConstruction
@MillisConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
@@htr5372 the fact remains I don’t want to carry separate bits. If I was forced to then I’d go with the Wera ratcheting bitholder instead since it’s even lighter than the Pb and still carries bits.
