Mills Family Vacation Day 3 - Family & History

Today we're going on a "Daddy History" tour to see some of the places that were important to him. Then we spend the afternoon at Aunt Melanie's house. (I got to give Melanie her first sewing lesson today, too!) We end the day with supper at the Subway that was Tom's first job.

I think you should do more daily vlogs of some of the adventures your family takes even if it's little places like your local park! Yesterday was Justus' birthday, so we'll have a vlog of the day up soon. Today is our first day of school and I think I'm going to try to have a vlog once a week showing things from the previous school week. We'll see how it goes. The kids really like watching them, too!

it's always fun for our children to see where we grew up. So great that you are all enjoying your trip. how's the weather there? it's perfect here in the bay area. I let my children watch along today and now they want to watch all your videos! they are watching your video when you went to the arcade after the school year ended. they are impressed with all the tickets your children won! That's fun to think you're all watching together! Another mom told me once that her little son liked to pretend he was my son Thomas after watching our videos. It was fun for Thomas to have his first fan! The weather has been beautiful; we went to the beach today and it was cool and overcast so it was so nice being there.

I might have to make a video about that one of these days. To answer you right now in the short version, I grew up in the town we live in. Tom's family moved to Wyoming because they felt like that's where God wanted them to be. We met 4 months after his move and we married 7 months later.

Why did Tom move to Wyoming?

His mom, Kitty, and stepdad, Doug decided to move to Wyoming because they felt like God wanted them to and Tom decided to come with them. He was 21 at the time. Now he says he thinks God intended for him to find me and that's how he accomplished it! Doug and Kitty are now divorced and Doug returned to California.
