@@ninevoltromeo I don't know what is it supposed to prove or show? Yes, in the video you linked James is playing the exact guitar I mentioned and which was recreated here: Hetfield's Electra V which is a cheap Gibson Flying V copy. Yes, it has an Gibson truss rod cover- the information about James having bought it from a guy who attached a Gibson truss rod to his copy is also mentioned- the truss rod/Gibson logo who had many people confused as to the real maker of the guitar. PS I am sorry if I wrongly thought you were coming at me being like 'LOOK, IT'S CLEARLY A GIBSON!' if that wasn't your intention and you were sort of confirming my point- it's just that people often do that when they provide absolutely no context at all ;)

It cracks me up how they used James Hetfield actual voice from the Kill ‘Em All record, obviously James Hetfield is one of those main guitarists in heavy-metal history that use the Flying V for a little while of his career before switching over to the 1984 Gibson Explorer where his iconic look took shape, but thank you for actually telling the world that he actually played a flying V in his early years of Metallica especially through the Kill ‘Em All to the Ride The Lightning years of Metallica, even though he didn’t exactly have the Gibson Flying V, Electra guitars created an exact replica with their specs

This guitar is my no. 1!! In the eighties I bought a white Tokai V and changed I to be like James's! I bashed it up and put on the black pickup rings and gold tone and volume knobs. I even got hold of a Gibson trussrod plate. When I broke the neck I had it repaired but it didn't feel the same anymore. I still regret giving it to a friend of mine. He hung it on the wall in his living room. I now own another white Tokai V and it plays great. I don't know what I would give for a copy like this but damn this is so cool! Greetings from Holland.

Fantastic job! Didn't this guitar have open coiled passive humbuckers as opposed to EMG's? Guitar looks bang on though

Nice to see you're back, I've been obsessed with modifying shitplanks since I first saw "How to make a cheap guitar awesome" back when I was 15 all those years ago. You proved that it IS possible to polish a turd. My wallet wants to say "fck you" but I want to say thanks for introducing me to this world of guitar customization.

That guitar may have EMGs these days but no way it had them back in the day. EMGs came later for Hetfield.

The EMG 85 was released in 1979. So that pickup would have been available at the time Kill 'Em All was released

Pretty sure EMG’s we’re around in 79-80. I remember when they came out. They weren’t quick connect back in the day though.

James did put the EMG pickups in it so he is replicating the guitar as it is now.

It’d be cool to see an artist get to hold both the original and the replica and see if they know which is the original!
