I've got a programme from the Millwall v Hull city at boothferry in march 1978. The lions played the tigers. I didn't realise that the colour's and the lion come from the Scottish origins of the club I just thought it was a random nickname to be honest.

In 1967, night match at the Den, visitors Aston Villa won 2-1. At the final whistle, referee Pat Partridge was attacked on the pitch by angry Millwall fans. Not mentioned in this piece.
