Good Luck! Timing I guess. i’ll be releasing more videos soon. it’s very time consuming to make. plus work plus house building.

@@Stubbornnut That's great to here. From one tradesman to another you're a fantastic teacher. This will help me get my second red seal hopefully.

What reference are you using to define thread elements? In defining pitch diameter I have not found such a straight forward definition as you have presented. ASME M1.7-2006 states the following "the pitch diameter of the enveloping thread of perfect pitch, lead, and flank angles, having full depth of engagement, but clear at the crests, and of a specified length of engagement. Design pitch diameter of the enveloping thread is equal to that of the product maximum material limit." I am just looking for a good definition for a lesson plan with a credible source. Keep up the great videos, I look forward to their content.

machinery handbook. it is very technical and often takes me multiple read to internet. but that is the bible. also in canada we have alberta government based individual learning module as well as a very shitty millwright manual in constant state of potential revision which references this. not sure where you are based but in canada that book is the gospel.

@damondonner1751 the ipt industrial fasteners handbook has some drawings on page 23-25 which you can extrapolate the definition from. for both iso and unified. also on page 27 there is a written definition “Pitch diameter: pitch diameter is expressed as the diameter of a theoretical cylinder that passes through the threads in such a position that the width of the thread ridges and thread grooves are equal in dimension”

@@Stubbornnut Thank you for the quality feedback. I was not aware of the IDP's Industrial Fastener's Handbook. I see two of them, a training manual and the handbook itself. I look forward to reading them. I am from the states so there does seem to be some type of divide here when it comes to millwrights and information relating to. About the Machinery's Handbook, I was under the impression that it is not the source of engineering data but rather a depository of data from multiple sources such as ASME, SAE and the like. Don't get me wrong, I have copies and the thread callout pages are the most used. Thank you for the assist, I look forward to more videos from this channel.

the ipt books are american based and in my opinion the best textbooks around. the difference between the manual and the handbook is that one is larger and has unit questions in it (manual) and the other is small and designed for tool boxes (handbook). happy to work with you. thanks for following the channel.
