Milo 2 - Shake Down Service at Terrain Tamer - Roothy Bushmechanics

After Milo 2's run down to Melbourne and some fun in the High Country with the Old Cruisers Kick Arse (OCKA) rally, the chance to drop in on my mate All Gray at Terrain Tamer HQ was too good to pass up. But this wasn't a social call, I wanted to give Milo 2 a full lube service and finish off the install of the Brown Davis fuel tank. We also took the chance to switch at out the 300Kg rear leaf springs for a set of 500Kg rated springs. It was just over a year since I showed Allan the donor truck that was to become Milo 2 back in Brisbane, so it was great to see his reaction the finished build.

Plastic shopping bag around the oil filter will stop the mess. It does spin around and tangle a bit but persevere and it works.

awesome rig, those front led's must throw some serious light down the road. And the front bumper with removable replaceable end is a great idea. we need this in the states

G'day Bruce, yes the Lightforce HTX lights were very powerful, but with the Ignite lighting 7" LED inserts replacing the original glow-worms, you don't really need anything else (www.roothy.com.au/ignite-headlight-inserts/ ). Pretty sure that the XROX bar is available in the US. All the best mate.

Hey Roothy, Spike a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and drain it before removing it. I do this on all of the road trains that I service at my work and it makes it so much cleaner and easier

I take the filter off in a plastic bag. catches the oil but draining it first is better

The filling of the oil filter may work for that motor but won’t work for ones that are mounted facing down or horizontally, like most toyota diesels.

You need to metal spray and grind the axial groove out if you want a new seal to work, if you were going to reclaim that axial

Milo 2 is amazing you need to do a full tour once fully complete, (no car is ever fully complete) so whenever your happy with it I suppose
