I practiced your swing yesterday after studying the slo mo video and I hit the ball the best in past 10 years. It feels weird to turn off the arms and hands in the early downswing and just rotate the upper body. Irons and driver went dead straight. 265-280 yard carry with driver is awesome at my age. First time my left shoulder hasn't been sore after a bucket of balls in a long time. I had two guys behind me watching and said I was hitting driver better than anyone they'd seen at the driving range. Thanks for the free tips.

I like to think of applying speed as pushing someone on a swing set. It works the best if on the way up you collect them, then you follow with your hands on until you get near the bottom of the arc of the swing then you apply most of your speed. Your not waiting as much as feeling when it feels best to add speed. I think the thought of waiting tunes out feeling, and you want to feel when it is optimal to add force. Just like pushing someone on a swing you are monitoring when it’s the best time to add speed (unless you don’t like them). You try to never interfere with the circle. The other note about tour tempo is that it’s important to not anticipate the second beat. When you hear it you change direction. Obviously, you know it’s coming, but it’s important not to change directions hard in reaction to the second beep. Nice video. Alan.

@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
Hand speed maxes out around P5.5, so slightly later. And in our opinion this is generally done not because you’re trying to fire you’re hands and arms from the top.

Great video! Very informative on generating speed and rhythm. Regarding Tour Tempo, I think saw somewhere John Norvosel saying you shouldn’t anticipate the first beat, but react to it. So your takeaway doesn’t start on the first beat but right after it. You hear the first beat and then go.

So I randomly watched this video during the week and it was like a revelation, I have been fighting inconsistency in my swing for some time and to me it feels like I’m too snatchy from the top. I’ve been a Tour Tempo user for about a year and it improved my tempo but my rhythm was off and I didn’t know it. I was putting energy into the club all the way to the top and then switching directions which is just what I thought you do.. because that’s what it looks like. Drilled the new feeling all week and hit the Par 3 this morning. First tee, 52° went a little longer than usual, carried the pin and ended up off the back edge. second tee, normally a pitching wedge would get me to the front edge. Sailed it. Absolute missile straight into the water off the back. Adjusted down a club for the next 7 and was all over it. The 5th and 9th were 9i holes last weekend and would leave me a little under the pin. Was pin high with PW on both. No major change in direction control from what I could tell but contact was far more crisp, not a single fat shot although a couple thin. Appreciate the content guys, yall doing the lord’s work out here

I think of transition as the energy applied early in backswing being stored in the muscle stretch reflex also. The magic of the stretch reflex is so rare to see in recreational golfers. Hence good rhythm so rare.

Interesting. Sometimes I like to have people energize their backswings like we discussed in the video. Depends on the player.
@mitchy7051 Жыл бұрын
Jacob 3D pretty much validates this point. When an elite golfer masters this move they can transition their body while the center of mass of the club stays back which makes it easier to "lay down" the club for the desired shape shot. Koepka even with his helicopter move on 3d the center of mass is relatively still even though the handle is move all over the place That's why there is no desernible difference in performance in shafts for elite golfers. They are so intuned with this move that they can easily adapt their swing. That attunement then allows them to align their left hip and left chest to rotate around much like a well oiled hinge on a door. Less timing is involved Thus shaft is more of a preference. Good video guys

What might be interesting is to use something like this app (that makes noise) on the course to control initiation of the swing. Say, it does the beeps 3 times (with a bigger pause in between) and on the last one you swing. I see a lot of people who just never seem to know when they're ready to swing. This might just solve that problem by taking that option out of their head as well as teaching them a pre-shot routine that includes a time limit. Two practice swings, address, count to 4 and go! Or in my case, no practice swing, address, count to 1 and go.

@@MiloLinesGolf HI Milo Thank you for at least enquiring about where I am coming from and not being defensive or assume one knows the answer as per the comment of player 18.. First of all let me be clear at the outset, I have no credentials per se and I am not a pro by any means, just an ordinary amateur student studying the game. In your video you mention several times the need for energizing the swing early. That is an excellent point. What do you mean by that? I ask that question because you go onto say after you energize the swing early, you allow the club to "coast to the top" as it were. Again I agree and a good point.. So where in the backswing does the energizing take place? From that I can only assume energizing the swing begins with the takeaway and ends when the club head is above the hands at waist high. If done with enough force, the club can coast to the top more or less on its own. So how do you put enough force into the takeaway so the club can float to the top? Have a look see at this video link below, which is a video just on that point alone, that has additional benefits arising from pushing down on the handle during the takeaway. I found that works wonders and is a necessary component of injecting force or energy into the swing early that is the point of your excellent video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJnVaH-nfKmegKM Best Harold
