America is truly the most naturally diverse country on planet earth. It’s such a privilege to be able to go visit almost every biome known to man all in one country. Most of us live an entire life and never get to see most of it. I thank you for giving us a glimpse into all the beauty out there through your amazing channel.

There's a famous photograph by Edward Curtis, taken around 1905, of several Navajo on horseback riding through this canyon. The grainy twilight lighting evokes the end of their era.

@Frank Silvers you’re confusing the modern concept of citizenry (which is a political concept related to geo-political borders) with native existence in a region (non-political). You’re therefore wrong, and you clearly have an argumentative chip on your shoulder. You will never be a native of these lands in the way that the Native Americans are and have been for many thousands of years. Face it, and learn to live with it, buddy.

Sonya and I visited there in 2010 for our Grand Canyon trip. It was awesome there . I had asked one of the natives who was there the height of that Spire and he told me 800 feet. After taking some great pictures from the rim off the walk path I just like shit. I had asked him about the trail down in the bottom. He told me that that was a Jeep road. Great time. I was very Impressed of the Park. Great place to visit. A great Nation of People. Thanks for sharing that with us.

This is a really beautiful place. The Navajo nation sells motorized or horseback tours of the canyon floor. You can also drive the rim road and hike into the canyon (at one spot only) for a closer look at the ruins. I’ve visited a few times. Unfortunately, the “Cottonwood” campsite at the mouth of the canyon appears to be frequently visited by young people (possibly Navajo?) who are interested in being particularly in-hospitable. Knowing the area, I once stopped here for a few hours sleep in the campground, being dangerously road-weary en route from aspen to the AZ white mountains. I arrived late, paid my fee, and quietly returned to my pickup for some rest. It was July 4th so I slept in the driver seat with my window half open. A short while later I was startled awake by a young native man’s hand clutching my neck. IF you visit the canyon, watch your valuables and keep your guard up. And ALWAYS take PLENTY of drinking water if you plan to hike. And be prepared for a wealth of panhandlers in the town of chinless if you stop for food or fuel.

I cannot describe in words where they take me.....I feel such an connection with mother earth when I watch them...I question who I am, how small I am compared to everything, how did this happen, how impossibly beautiful and perfect our wold is....wonderment is probably the best word to describe my feelings. Thank you...I love your work. Now I have to do some research about the decayed houses at the bottom of the canyon...who lived there and when....? Again, thank you......

What an interesting site, I have always had this fascination with large rocks, they have a power of their own. The petroglyphs I had not seen before. Now mentioning large rocks, if it ever settles down in Venezuala, there are some truly magnificent locations there, Roraima, Kukenan and Angel Falls which I am sure you would have fun with. Excellent video as usual.
