Wow! As an amateur, it's amazing watching Milt play. The heads of his mallets are huge and the length of the sticks are short. I love the way he "attacks"the instrument, just really putting his weight into the significant notes. It is a totally unique way of playing the vibes. Very inspiring!

Just wish we had more of "rehearsel" videos - just to have an idea how these people create flawlessly for two hours in a concert - so many musicians playing with one souls. How?

yeah, this is a vibraphone. You use felt mallets and it has a much mellower tone, I believe its used pretty much solely for jazz. It also has a sustain pedal. Its also awesome.

The drummer was hurting me. But Milt is a professional and yes that audience was a bunch of Frickin Zombies "Sitting Dead".

I can't believe that all the other musicians and audience aren't moving with the rhythm. Just sitting there stonefaced

If only i could play this instrument adequately, just barely adequately, i feel i would never be entitled to ask for anything else ever again. the "Cortege" from "No Sun In Venice" is possibly my favourite MJQ piece, so slow, so mild and so explosively sexual.

Niels-Henning Orsted Peterson on bass (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly), for many years one of the foremost European jazz musicians. It's hard to understand the stolid, unfeeling attitude of the listeners. If they are any indication of what Budapest is like, it must be a miserable place. They didn't even appear to appreciate how lucky they were to have Jackson and Peterson there as their guests.
