For a while now I was thinking of switching from 3/8 automotive fittings to 1/4 high flow fittings but always backed out. I guess I was really waiting for one to fail to have an excuse but they have been working flawlessly for years no problems. I did make an adapter conversion with metal regulator for my cutting and grinding tools using high flow hf fittings. All good.

Well this sent me in a different direct. I plan on switch from 1/4 to 3/8 size and have no interest in junk. Thank you for the upload sir.

Nothing like a straight forward honest review. I've thought about making a few videos and would do it just the same. I'm interested in helping people not marketing them. Thank you for the video. I was driving myself crazy hooking things up tonight as some of my 3/8" couplers had 3/8" threads and others had 1/4" female threads. I don't understand why 3/8" hoses have 1/4" fittings when they make 3/8" couplers with 3/8" threads. I understand having the option but the 1/4" is the standard. Just seems odd to me not to make them the same.

I read on Milton's website, with impact type tools or rotary high flow tools, you need to use a leader/whip hose (3 foot hose directly into tool (maybe with a swivel), then have the Milton V high flow connection at the other end. For this reason. FYI

Good point. Generally so do the tool manufactures

I can confirm, the brass ones from milton in v flow have the same issue, I gave up on the milton V style and went the same route you did and went to the 3/8 body size with the 1/4 NPT. They seem to be working for me.

Don't buy the soft Milton's. Go 3/8 size if you want free flowing fittings for serious air tools.

stumbled on this video a year later. I just had to paste this from Milton's website below the hi-flow aluminium v-style fittings : ** Not recommended for use with high vibration commercial tools (impact wrenches, orbital sanders, etc.). ** Maybe they added it recently, I don't know.

When I ordered them, I never knew they were soft. I never seen a disclaimer. I assumed they were heat treated some how. Maybe they added a disclaimer recently?

I'm going to get more 3/8 plugs to run tools from my 3gallon compressor from harbor freight, i think they will work

They are excellent fittings. You won't ever wear these out.

I had same issue. Your right they are to soft. I replaced those with the steel Milton with no issue so far. It was the light weight aluminum that isn’t good.

It's good to hear the steel fittings are OK.

@@007connecticut so far. Just home use and not daily. So many company’s have gone to crap. It’s sad.

@@JohnR9965 The reviews are nearly 5 star on Amazon. Most videos on line also rave how good they are. So I spend money on these fittings and redone everything. Just to have wasted my time. That's what pissed me off so. Oh well, my short rant will find it's way to someone who won't buy them. A small victory for me.

Apparently you weren't aware that you can get Milton brand V style fittings in steel also. Milton S-217 is the steel version. Aluminum in ANY air fitting is a joke.

The purple is so pretty! but the reviews also say the steel does the same thing with impact guns. So yeah I knew they made them in steel or brass.

Im looking for 1/4 npt but 3/8 plugs and fittings where did you get those
@007connecticut2 жыл бұрын
The Milton hi flows suck. Buy these they are 3/8 fittings with 1/4" NPT threads. These are off amazon. I love these www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0868F771Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When I purchased mine, there were no restrictions. Perhaps they added that to lessen the returns, when someone buys a set for impact gun use.

Try using an air hammer 🔨 you’ll destroy them in seconds
