My favorite moment is Rizzo taking a curtain call for his meaningless home run. What a guy!!!

Glad I wasn’t the only one to be like “wtf”. With that logic, Woodruff definitely should’ve taken one when he took Kershaw out during a relief appearance in the NLCS.

Those were brutal back-to-back-home-losses for the Cubs against the Brewers (Monday game 163 for NL Central division) and the Rockies (Tuesday NL Wild Card game). WOW Those Theo-Maddon Cubs (2015-2019) should have had at least one more NL pennant, with all the talent they had. They reminded me of the Mets from 1984-1990, with only one WS appearance. And both the Mets (1986) and Cubs (2016) only WS title were memorable ones.

As a lifelong Cubs fan this was a really rough end to an honestly fantastic season. 95 freaking wins - that’s enough to take the division 9 times outta 10 (at least in the NL...). Javy Baez nearly won MVP and Rizzo was on fire in the second half too. Bullpen and especially rotation were really locked in. The team didn’t collapse down the stretch either, played competitive ball the whole way... it just so happened the Brewers forgot how to lose over the final 2 weeks. This game was super tense and exciting and fun, but rewatching the meltdown in the 8th wasn’t fun. The Brewers’ offense completely outdid the Cubs’ overall. Then the same exact shit happened the next night against the Rockies, just more drawn out. Watching 2 opponents celebrating on Wrigley Field back-to-back nights brought on some heavy drinking. Truly a complete and total faceplant of an end to a really promising 2018 season. This was also the true beginning of the Brewers beginning to have the Cubs’ number, which is still the case now (despite our no-hitter against them last year)... so there’s that. I will say as a fan I’ve really been enjoying how much more intense the Cubs-Brewers rivalry has gotten though...
@chriskay14493 жыл бұрын
Didn't collapse? In the span of 4 days they went form the division lead to elimination from the postseason. They lost twice at home. That absolutely was a choke job.
@johnnybarrett51083 жыл бұрын
@@chriskay1449 Yes. Those final 2 games were a choke job. There was no collapse in the regular season. 6-4 over the final 10 games is still winning baseball, the Brewers just went 9-1.
@micahbuschkopf1543 жыл бұрын
@@johnnybarrett5108 I really have begun to appreciate the rivalry more in these past couple years. Good luck, and may the better team win the Central this year! Just hopefully not the reds.

@@chriskay1449 The Cubs went 16-11 in September..I wouldn’t call that a collapse. They just couldn’t hold off the Brewers.
@chriskay14492 жыл бұрын
@@dougg2012 Thaty wasn't what I called the collapsse. With 2 games left in the season they had the division lead. They ended up tied, lost the one game playoff then lost the WC. They went from division lead to elimination in 4 days. That is a collapse.

It truly was, even though I was rooting for the home team. I had a Brewer fan next to me, and, two rows ahead of me were four Brewer fans together. Everyone was cool. After the Rizzo home run, I made the mistake of reaching forward for a low five from one of the Brewer fans. He gave it to me. After each of the next two Brewer runs, he made it a point to turn around and ask for a low five, which I gave him, as I deserved it. It was all in good fun, and I congratulated the Milwaukee fans after the last out. But, it's not over yet. It's not over until WE say it's over. :) Oh, by the way, thanks for posting this video.

What was the percentage of Brewers fans to Cubs fans at this game? I’ve seen some comments that are saying the Brewers fans took over, but from what I can tell by these highlights, there were a lot of Brewers fans in attendance for sure (enough for a noticeable “Moose” chant by Mike Moustakis), but no where near take over level. Based on the highlights it sounds like it was at least 25% Brewers fans but no more than 40% Brewers fans.

sorry to burst excited bubbles everybody; what is that 'English' expression? "sacrificial lambs" ANY, and EVERY NL team that goes into WS against Redsox. *** well, boston and fans, here is another WS won this year. GUARANTEED. this year has every single element for a SURE BET WS win. Those elements are: top pitching, top hitting, batting title included, without 'injuries,' Two members of long time ML tenure, (these are also determiners in WS wins) at least one will retire. NO. Unlike the last couple years, it absolutely will NOT be anywhere near 7 games. And perhaps the ultimate clinching guaranteer; 1st year manager. Every time they won, this century, was a first year manager. I am very sure i am not the only person who could see it all season long. Yeah, so one "no-hitter" at beginning of year; a fluke, however, even some NON redsox fans surely know this is, if ever there was one, a SURE BET. i am already spending the money i won from their WS victory. Enjoy it boston, as you will also have NO LESS than 15-17 more the rest of this century. NOT even 'GOD' itself can stop it. There is no NL team, and NEVER will be that could remotely possibly beat the redsox in a WS. 'THIS' century. OAKLAND will knock off the INJURED yanks, so will make it MUCH easier for 'GOD'S plan' to complete its cycle with WS victory. It is an astonishing thing for us to know there are actually people (fans) out there indeed do not know it is a boston WS victory this month. -- 'Death' is not even as sure a bet -- (after all, people do somehow, escape it) The redsox will have to "throw" a game or 2, so they can win the WS at 'home' and why not? -- this team, as almost always, (they OWN the NL interleague play) would win, if had to play each and every single NL team to win it all. NL teams MIGHT have a chance to win against LAST place teams in AL. several extremely rare circumstances applied last year, thus a fantastic 7 game series. this year, well, just HAND the redsox the trophies, money, and title banners and everybody just play for 2nd place. -- it ought to be rather obvious for more than a small percentage of baseball lovers out there to see this SURE BET. •• AND, on side note; (NOT my guarantee) it is ALREADY looking like ANOTHER 108 years before the 'CUBS' will return. -- get you names on the list for 2126!!
