These were 'in style' for a little while over the last couple of years. I don't have them but I'm sure many people buy them while getting supplies for their construction projects. Appreciate the info, as always.

I'm sure there are many out there with average people who just needed a knife for a project.

I have the same pair of knives for my edc at work

I went through 3 of the folders and they each held up good enough and lasted pretty well. For the price there pretty decent. I have the fixed blade too, but have not carried or used it often enough to say whether or not its decenent. I might make a decent kydex for it someday so that I would maybe actually carry it. The sheath is junk and I dont like the ride hight.

I just sharpened one of these folders a few days ago for a customer

This one is very easy to sharpen and comes up nicely .

I'm hoping the PD#1 test comes soon
@Outpost_76Ай бұрын
I'm working on it, I have to use up the first few sharpenings before I test it.

@Outpost_76 what about some kizer 20cv and s90v?

Kizer S90V, let's see it!

I have the Lenox version, ive used it a ton. I'd just about guarantee it's 7cr17. Edit: mostly the additional stainlessness over 8cr is what makes me say that. I've had plenty of half decent 7cr. My sog ace and Gerber kettlebell perform just as well as any 8cr I've used.

I have one I'm also going to test and see if it does similar to these.

Ready for you to test some 15v, the new Rex121, and some PD1
@Outpost_76Ай бұрын
I don't have any 15V and I'm not picking up the 121 anytime soon. The PD1 I'm using up the first few edges before I test that one.

Not bad for the price !! Thanks for the testing !!

My 7cr chopper bowie is excellent. It all depends on heat treatment, blade geometry and micro bevel angle. Mine performs better than most of 8cr-s and AUS-8s I own. It also a 6mm stock. Chops wood like a beast.

I'd like to try the fixed blade version, for my barbecue in kitchen. Do you think that would work
@Outpost_76Ай бұрын
For the price it's worth a try. I have too much stuck on the blade to try this one on food.

I got a Spyderco Bow river (8Cr13MoV) and its a great kitchen paring knife at 30°

Curious - when you say sharpened more then enough times, how many times is enough before you’re surely into the good steel?
@tacticalcenter8658Ай бұрын
Depends. 3 on average. If the edge is burnt from factory sharpening more. If it's really burnt, a lot more.
@Outpost_76Ай бұрын
The Tradesman from use has been sharpened 14 times in my sharpening log. The folder was the standard 3 before testing.
@edcjourneysАй бұрын
I shiujd start a log. Whats yours look like? I should just copy how you do it!
