Isn’t it RIT dye?
@JJ-lu6mg2 күн бұрын
Yes RIT dye is what you want to use. They actually make a synthetic RIT dye that works even better, but both do work. They also make RIT “dye more” this version works the best when I dye my G10 knife scales, which is a similar type of plastic that is used on these tool housings.

Yeah you right

I used to dye RC car parts black, etc back in the day 1980's. Team Associated parts came in natural ivory nylon, yuck! Only issue was how deep you can get dye to penetrate (boiling). Great video. I did the same thing to PC case parts and bezels in late 90's and early 2000's. Every maker had a different beige! Yuck. Now everything is available in black. lol

Same here! I dyed some Traxxas chassis back in HS but we never boiled them.. just soaked them for a few hours and called it good and they turned out great! We’ll have to see how well these tools hold the color

I saw another video use acetone in their process. I guess you don't need that? I wonder why the Milwaukee logo turned black. Yhe guy who sells them on eBay doesn't paint them and they still stay whiteish. It seems there are different methods to do this.
@djcustomsllc16 сағат бұрын
Nope, didn’t use acetone.. not really sure what the benefit would be unless the purpose is to clean it really well.. I know that acetone will melt some plastics.. but I could have been to open up the plastic better for bonding??

When the impact gets scratched are the scratches red?
