Just bought one of these with a 12ah battery, and it is a perfect fit for my property. I have an acre with about 20 trees that normally need cleaned up twice a year. It normally takes about 45 minutes to get my gas saw running each time, and the saw is cantankerous at best when I am using it. With the M18 saw, I had all of the trimming done and cleaned up in the time it took me to get the gas saw running. After about 30 minutes of continuous use the battery still showed full charge. The one thing that bugs me about the saw is that it does not come with a case. At $500 for the saw and 12ah battery (set), a case should have been included. The one thing to wrap your head around, which should seem obvious, is that this is a high-torque chain saw, not an electric trimmer. With gas, the running engine really keeps your attention that you are using a tool that can hurt you if given the chance. A couple of times I found myself fiddling with the saw, checking chain tension and such, and realized that I had put myself in danger by not removing the battery before servicing this machine.

I like the saw. Nice that there is no noise when you stop. It is close performance to my smaller Sthil. I have the 12h batteries and they last long enough that you have to add bar Oil. It would be nice to have a next size bigger. All in all I like the saw and the wife loves it.

Milwaukee needs to make these in America. And they need to produce a 12" top handle for arborist and trail maintenance. And a 20" .050 saw for big trees

run a 12.0 hd batt in this saw and you will love it,yes the batts are expensive but well worth it in the long run,saw is a beast,and run 12.0 batts in all your "big"milwaulkee tools and you will be a believer

Unless I missed it. I don't think you talked about how the saw works on the 5ah battery vs the 8ah. I have several 5ah and wouldn't mind getting the saw if I don't have to fork out the extra $ for the bigger battery.

They need the HO type batteries. The regular batteries cause the chain to stop randomly.

I think I did mention it in the video. That's what is so awesome about Milwaukee's battery tech you get more capacity and more power on a 8AH battery with a fuel tool

Not sure if you're aware of this or not but if you're trying to keep any Milwaukee tools for longevity purposes you can't get them from Amazon because they're not warranted. The only way they will honor a warranty is if it is bought from authorized dealer Home Depot acme tools Ohio power tool etc etc. Amazon is not a place to order Milwaukee tools nowhere on Amazon can you get a Milwaukee tool and be able to have it warranted should you need to. And as a owner of about 45 of their cordless tools between the M12 and M18 line I will have to say that the one or two things I've had to send off that Milwaukee has one of the best warranty services in the game so it's worth getting it. Even if you lose your receipt they will still honor the warranty by looking at the serial number and determining whether or not it was manufactured within it five year warranty period if it's the 5-year or 3 year or two year warranty. So just a heads up on that if you ever do any more reviews with Milwaukee tools and purchasing them yourself to keep. Not to mention I usually find at Home Depot most of the time usually has the best price on Milwaukee tools anyways especially around Father's Day and Christmas are usually have a buy more save more event going on pretty much most of the year every year. Hope this comment helps glad I found your channel the intro had me hooked. I want to go back to finish in this video up because I've been interested in the big chainsaw I have to 6 in pruning saw and I absolutely love it except for the safety switch that you have to push in before you squeeze the trigger because I have small hands and my fingers slide off of it other than that I absolutely love that thing it is a beast. I was cutting four to six inch thick pine branches in one foot pieces just the other day when the tree fell on a friend's yard and it absolutely ate it's lunch with a 6 amp battery and I probably made 60 or so cuts if not more before I need to charge it. And not to mention since you are into chainsaws for your line of work I recently saw a video here on KZbin of a guy going and looking at tool patents and they found one for a Milwaukee top handle M18 fuel 12-in chainsaw so I've been hopeful that they'll release that and have it as a non-official Gen 2 of the 16 in more or less. That way they can address any issues and problems that the 16 inches had and be able to have greater success with It they usually do really well on their Gen 2 models of anything such as their nail guns these days they are absolutely just dominating everything with their cordless nailers carpentry tools are dominating for years now. But I can tell that the ties have change are slowly moving in and they need to do something with the batteries be able to get more power to keep up with the demand of more and more tools and bigger tools especially I'm interested to see what they'll do considering they've had the best battery technology on the market for years until ego came along but it's not really apples to apples comparison there. Sorry for the long comment I'll wrap it up with one last thing and just note that it is such a great time to be alive to be able to witness all these changes from gasoline powered and corded to cordless tools. I'm 37 years Young and I've been using Milwaukee cordless tools about 2005 and I can't wait to see what else is in the store all these years coming thanks for the great video guys.

I've had to send 4 tools to Milwaukee for repair, all bought from Amazon, and they've replaced every one no questions asked. Never submitted a reciept for any of them. They just go off serial number, no proof of purchase required. Milwaukee warranty service is excellent.

Saw is great but the batteries are not. I have so many Balancing issues with my 12HD batteries... the battery reliability issues ruin the whole experience

I have had no problems at all with it. I still have a husqvarna 460 that I use for the big stuff but this thing is great and light weight. I grab it first

It's a fine saw BUT mine leaks oil out the side and bottom constantly and everywhere EXCEPT on the chain. Too bad. Expensive and good company.

No sir this one seems to do pretty well. Best thing is make sure you keep bar oil in it and good and sharp. You get a lot less stress in your chain that way

We actually use this saw 5 days a week For small cuts here and there. Probably consume a battery or 2 a day and it holds up very well.

My saw has very light use, looks like new. just out of warranty. Locked up $240 to repair. It's in the trash.

Real review with not a single real cut with the chainsaw. Cinematic half-cuts only. Doesn't work in the rain, if you don't already have an M18 High Output battery then do not buy this saw!

Most people don't work outside when it's raining, especially people cutting trees. It's dangerous to be out there where you could slip and lose control over tools.

Great concept but if middle of woods how you charge battery with out gas generator in which case just have regular saw with gas no generator speed control chainsaw works better if full throttle cutting chain cut better a circular saw is no good half speed can you use in snow that's frozen rain

@@micknstacetube ever seen the early lumberjack man they was really eco friendly they didn't even use electricity they had pull saws and axes and shot man and candle light eco friendly and if I had to carry a generator why would I use a battery powered saw I'd rather carry a extention cord and put gas in the generator just a thought

@@bradkaberline5828 you can get 150 cuts out of a 12ah battery, so if you’re using the saw as it’s meant to be used for than 1-2 batteries would last all day. No generator needed 🤷🏼

Sorry but I don't like electric saws battery pack Shaw's they just don't have the power of a gas change the I'm going to buy a gas chainsaw before I ever buy electric chainsaw because if I got a branch of falls off a tree and I need to remove it and it's raining I don't want to have to wait for not to be raining in Milwaukee is not really a chainsaw company I'd rather go with something that's more reliable that's been around for quite a few years like still like you see I don't want to buy electric chainsaw then turn around and have to buy a gas chainsaw to do something that the electric one can't makes more sense to buy the one that could do everything then the one that can't

Reviewing brand new items defeats the purpose.. An item review after 6 to 12 months hard use is a true review.. You may as well just be a sales man in the shop trying to review brand new items
