Yes, you are absolutely right. I commented on another video: "QUICK FIX... Often that terminal on the battery is bent too far into the battery case so get a small screwdriver and bend it out again. When power is connected to the drill with the two large spade connectors the circuitry checks to see that the third contact has been made. If not it will give the 'disco of death' blinking. Bend the connector back into place and you will be up and running! Bad design of battery case! Hope that helps!"

Thanks Theo. On mine the contact in the driver was bent down horizontally because it had hit the plastic housing on the battery. Poor contact design. It was evident on the batteries at the top of the contact as the plastic was marked or damaged. Pushed the tab contact in the driver up against the wall vertically and it solved the problem.

I can confirm that these temperature pins are lower than the other two to the left even on brand new batteries. Took this opportunity to buy a XC/CP high output combo kit with charger ($99 Home Depot online only, get it while it lasts) and even on these the temp pin sits far lower and is recessed deeper into the casing than the other two. They function fine as of now so I’m not messing with them

I took mine apart thinking the cells weren't balanced. Balancing them didn't seem to make a difference (though it was needed). My contacts all looked slightly lower than they should be, but I gently pryed the temp contact forward with a pick and slightly further with some small needle nose. That's all it needed to work properly again! This was a 6.0 I used in an impact. Seems like the vibrations were causing it to lose contact.
