Finally someone mentions about the 5ah batteries. You answered my question about the use of them if you can still get reasonable run time. I bought the saw but didn’t get to test out fully but love it so far.

i do cabinet work and this saw would be awesome to have instead of having to run chords. only problem i see is cutting tall crown molding but i guess you could lay it down and compound miter it. i used a dewalt for years and finially had to switch to a rigid. the motors hit the top of the boards.

#WorkshopAddict I like the feature of the finger switch light on the handle. Pretty neat for a cordless tool, being that when you're working in an area where cordless is the only option, you most likely don't have access to lights. Very neat Milwaukee!

Hey workshop addict So how would you say it compares to a corded saw?

I own plenty of Milwaukee tools But I've tried 2 of these 10" saws and returned them, I found 2 main faults with the tool the fence extensions and the bevel adjustment presets. The latter being the worst I've seen on a saw of this type, hard if not impossible to adjust accurately Prone to have the screws strip and to much play when adjusted to truly trust. saw was great for cutting deck boards flooring and baseboards, things not requiring accurate bevels, but a nightmare with crown moldings.
@WorkshopAddict6 жыл бұрын
Steph Hagen Huh, ours could be squared easily and be relied upon without question.
@stephhagen48056 жыл бұрын
Let's be sure we are talking about the same thing for most basic cuts it was fine but for delicate and precision cuts at different bevel angles, it was not. This 10" saw uses an internal detent mechanism with a type of a pinion screw for Bevel settings, this is unlike other saws I've used "Bosch and Dewalt" which use external stop bolts and also is what I see on the much improved 7 1/4 Milwaukee slider "IMHO a sign maybe this was not the best design". So in-depth, the issue is adjusting this tool requires loosening 2 screws one is partially blocked by the dust shoot and turning the pinion thus changing all the detents for bevels. Both saws I tried had at least a half of degree of play in all detents I could get it adjusted one way then flip the bevel to the other side and again be off again. not sure how you tested but I saw in your video laying miter gauge on a 2x framing material at 45 deg. To test I suggest doing several outside joints 5 in. crown moldings and using the crown presets flipping the saw from left to right bevel see how they fit, Doing cuts like this in chop mode is also when the saw has the most deflection but needs the most accuracy. Using the saw one must be very careful how you pull to avoid deflection at beveled settings. I also had problems consistently setting it to back 90-degree vertical due to play in the pre-set after many repeated moves of the saw from a left or a right bevel trimming out several rooms.

I like the Milwaukee miter saw because to me the Flexvolt 12" miter saw doesn't really make sense. The 10" is more portable and you can use it on most of what a normal person will use a miter saw for. Though it would be nice if they made a plug-in adapter. It wouldn't take too much to make a power supply that will slide into the battery slot. #WorkshopAddict

Warren Chrastil I've got a Dewalt 12" corded saw that bogs down on 2x10 and lots of other things too, and that's supposed to be a saw for framing and siding whereas a 10 in saw is more of a trim saw. So I don't see it as a big problem.
@BrandonContracting7 жыл бұрын
Warren Chrastil a miter saw is a precision tool, you let the blade do the work. I see guy ramming wood thru their miter saw just chopping away, and I cringe. This saw is not slow by any means and it's normal for any tools to resist once it starts to work hard.
