Can’t speak for the 18 volt but the 12 volt is a great little radio or has been for me. Going strong for 3 years now .

@@TeamDIYNowwhat are your thoughts on the packout radio ??
@TeamDIYNow7 ай бұрын
@@ManuelPortelada I personally havent used the packout radio, however I believe the packout has around 102 db vs the regular M18 radio of 94 db. Also the packout radio has 10 speakers/360 degree while the regular M18 radio has 2 speakers and 2 tweeters. My guess its a notch above the M18 radio based on the specs, however I havent used so I cant confirm.

@@TeamDIYNow gotcha. I was debating on it myself just don’t know if it’s to big to bring in everyday to customers houses
@TeamDIYNow7 ай бұрын
@@ManuelPortelada Yea it does appear to be a decent size, however if you just have stacked on top of a few other packout boxes I think you will be fine. Sound wise it's probably overkill tho as you probably won't be cranking the volume up at a customers house.

The M18 radio Milwaukee radio is an awesome radio. It is a bit on the expensive side but it's well worth It sounds great. Can charge a battery has Bluetooth. It is a great radio.

I picked up an M18 for 125$ used - and it is really great, especially having the battery charting feature! The sound quality is good, the radio range is good but not as strong as my 2018 Subaru though - but gets all major local stations. 🤷♀

I bought the M12 for $99. It sounds great and the bluetooth connects easily. Only complaint is that when I have my phone in my pocket and my body is between the speaker and the phone, it cuts out.
@TeamDIYNow9 ай бұрын
Do you have other devices (or people around you) that are also on a 2.4 wireless frequency? The only time I ever had problem with some other bluetooth devices was when my wifes phone was also in the radius connected to a separate device. Not sure if this is your problem or not, but on mine I also carry my phone in my pocket all day and I dont have a problem with any interference.
@CHIOTIS18219 ай бұрын
@@TeamDIYNow To tell you the truth this happened only once when I was in my front yard. The cars were nearby and also a security camera only about 10 feet from where the speaker. Like I said though, it only cut out only when my body was between my phone in the speaker which I thought was strange, especially since they advertise 100ft of range

Does it need a m18 battery for the radio to work or can u plug in the cord?
@TeamDIYNow9 ай бұрын
You can use either a M18 battery or the included ac plug to power the radio.
@evictioncarpentry2628 Жыл бұрын
I wish the M12/M18 one had at minimum a radio. I have the big M18 one and its loud but its way too big and heavy and the M12 seems a little small and i dont like the ac adapter. Should have had a cord storage built in The other one that uses both batteries seems like a good middle ground if only it had a radio. I dont wanna be messing with BT or forced to pair a phone to have some tunes. Its on radio 90% of the time.
@TeamDIYNow Жыл бұрын
Yea I agree I didn't realize how bulky and heavy my M18 was until I got the M12. I also did review on a Bosch radio (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIaxY4GXdrateKM) that you can store the ac cord in the battery compartment. At times when on sale you can get the radio, battery and charger for less than any of the bare tool Milwaukee radios.
@evictioncarpentry2628 Жыл бұрын
@@TeamDIYNow I refuse to buy anything Bosch again. Had to warranty their 360 laser and it took almost 5 months to get it back, after they "lost it"... sent me a beat up used one and finally a brand new one months later. I do like the form factor of that but I also wouldn't get into another battery platform just for a radio. I've already got 40+ batteries from Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt. Sometimes I use the battery adapters but they make the battery big and don't think it would fit in that enclosure.

I have the m18, great radio but i have one real problem with it. The on button is the same as the Volume and it can easily get bumped in the truck and grunted on. I can’t tell you how many times that i have had the radio turn on in the bed of the truck from bumping the tail gate, other tools etc. This is their major flaw with the radio.
@TeamDIYNow10 ай бұрын
I agree that has happened to me a number of times as well. I do like the dial for the volume but not the location of the power button inside the dial.
@clintroberts1 Жыл бұрын
A comparison but zero mention of the sound quality of each. I have a M12 and it lacks drastically in bass. I'm assuming the larger ones are better and louder but at least describe especially since we cant hear the differences over KZbin as you mentioned.
@TeamDIYNow Жыл бұрын
I did mention in my final thoughts that if you're trying to fill a warehouse and you want the best possible sound quality then the M18 is the one to choose. If you're carrying the radio around and want mobility, then the M12 is the one. Not sure what else I can say.
@clintroberts1 Жыл бұрын
@@TeamDIYNow Yes you did mention louder but most speaker reviews speak about audio quality aspects such as bass, voice clarity, distortion at volume, treble and mids, etc
@alvilla701Ай бұрын
2:33 cause of the power cord type on the M12, i will never have it with me, so for me the charger is useless. I would rather have 2 speaker instead of one for stereo sound than the charger. Also, bluetooth 4.2 is a dinosaur, it needs the 5.0 or newer
@TeamDIYNowАй бұрын
Yea the 2 speaker M18 is definitely better-quality sound, but the mobility of the M12 is nice as well.

One is newer with the latest Bluetooth version and the other an older model
@TeamDIYNow Жыл бұрын
I thought they updated the M18 Bluetooth to the newer version in the last few years (I purchased mine 5+ years ago) but I could be wrong. Milwaukee states the M18 has an exclusive digital Bluetooth receiver (whatever that means) and the M12 says Bluetooth 4.2. I sure hope if someone buys a new M18 radio today it doesn't have the same Bluetooth mine has as its annoying to manually connect every time it disconnects.
