I am a big fan of the Packout Crate as you can see in my video here for the Packout Crate and Divider. • Milwaukee PACKOUT Crat...
While in Home Depot I tried stacking the Tool Tray on the Crate and decided it was a must for me. I feel like it might be useful to some of you as well... especially if you pull from bulk storage for service jobs. I also show one bonus feature that really surprised me.

Used the crate and tool tray like that his past weekend on a side-job changeout: Worked PERFECT for carrying all my 3/4" PVC fittings to plumb-in the drain and trap - then had all my tape and duct sealer etc in the crate to attach ductwork to the airhandler. Carried it the same way too. Most importantly.....it fits under the tonneau cover of my pickup.

Good video Morgan, I’ve recently got into the packout and I really like it. I picked up the rolling toolbox the other day and I’m thinking about that crate now. I have a fever and the cure is more PACKOUT
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
I’m picturing Will Ferrell dancing around banging on some Packout 😂. It can become an addiction. They lock together so nice. I love the crate but I use my Packout more for Parts and Supplies than for tools. Works great to quickly load and unload. I have the original rolling box and one other toolbox that was in the 3 piece set. I mostly got those for the dolly aspect and occasionally I throw some tools in if I need to work in a Mall or somewhere I have to walk real far. (We put up the Santa Claus set at the Mall by me every year) If I was going to do rolling stacks all the time… I think the drawers are the way to go so you don’t have to un-stack, but those are pricey. Other than that, all crates and organizers for me. Always appreciate you taking the time to comment 👍

@@MORGANSMaintenance I have the crate at work with 2 of the slim organizers on top so I plan on putting my m18 impact in the tray so I don't have to take it out of the crate and with the tray ill have extra room for things that I might need to take with me when doing repairs. I've been carrying my impact and putting things in my pockets because I don't have enough hands so I think the tray with solve my issue and after taking the measurements I think it's big enough for my needs.

Thanks. I thought about that type of setup or just cleaning supplies in general. I just leave mine empty and use it for different job parts/supplies as I need them between storage and the job. Basically an expensive 5 gallon bucket 😂 (but it looks cool) I do so many different things that there is never “one” setup I do so often that I can keep it all on me all the time. I do certain things a lot but they are usually spread out. I had one of my sons help me one summer when he was younger… it was a good time. Take it all in, next thing you know she’ll be grown up!

@@MORGANSMaintenance dude yeah I could imagine with all the different work you do, it really is an expensive cool looking 5 gallon 🤣 tho I’ve seen dudes use the yeti bucket so almost the same! Dude for sure it was a blessing to have her along I’m going to have her along prob a few more times to just get her out the house. The first 11 years has a been a blur 😞 As far as the coil cleaners, use to use the Nu calgon alka-Brite for condensers and the evap power for evaps. Now using the refrigeration technologies stuff (love it) the viper line up. Heavy duty for the condensers because more concentrated and they tend to get worse The evap+ for pull and cleans evaporators The viper coil clean foam for clean in places non rinse And the all purpose viper for cleaning the cabinet and condenser housings 👍🏻🤘🏻

I have several half boxes like the one in the background and I got the tray because: 1. it allows me to put the smaller items Im using for a specific job, 2. It allows me to link up all the half boxes together without a full box, 3. It GIVES ME A TOP HANDLE to carry all the boxes together.

No they don’t. You get one set in the two and three drawers. I’m not sure about the other options now. If you buy some in the store, make sure they even have those in them. People are bad about robbing dividers out of other drawers and putting them in theirs before they checkout.

I'd be worried about the crate falling off when carrying it with the tray. I've had packouts fall off the crate and land on my foot almost as many times as I've carried them without holding it by whatever packout is on the bottom.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
I haven’t had an issue with a double size Packout yet (on top) but this configuration is really the only one where I have carried the Crate other than by its own side handles…. And I only do this in specific situations too, not all the time. I have had the single wide ones come off the top, the divider helps with that… but I still wouldn’t carry it that way. I’m not sure I’ve ever had things on the bottom of my crate. (I usually only carry a create and maybe one more thing in with me on most jobs. I would have thought it would definitely hold better on the bottom than on the top. I’ll have to try that out, but thanks for the heads up on what to watch for…. And maybe saving my toes 😂

@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 8 ай бұрын
No it can’t. The tool tray has slots that allow you to set another packout on top… but they don’t interlock. It’s also narrower than the rest so it would tip easy if it was on the bottom. Hope that helps 👍

@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 3 ай бұрын
It’s a hard one to measure because there are different points where it’s smaller and wider.. If you take all the dividers out, the slimmest point front to back is right in the center where the latch button is… it’s 9” (it’s 9.5” in other spots) Slimmest point side to side is where the handle connects right in the center 14-1/4” (other spots up to 17”) I put a 14” knife in there and it lays flat. Hope that helps
