Wow, this really hit the spot for me ... it's so sad to hear of things like this. And it's obvious too ... repeat offenders! Not everyone seems to learn their lesson after being arrested/going to jail! :(

What if the cops consulted with these neighborhood leaders and self-proclaimed local politicians about problem youths? Like, the cops know somebody might be more apt to violence, and the police know it, so they talk to local activists and etc...? In an effort to PREVENT violence.

+Jeremy Daubon Because some of the self-proclaimed local politicians are not actually out for the best interest of the community and would use the information to the detriment of the community. Also some of these folks are related to the youths causing the problems. Also, don't forget...some of this information is protected information..especially dealing with juveniles.

Chief Flynn genuinely cares about everyone (even the crooks I have heard him speak of restorative justice) is competent, ethical, works tirelessly does he ever sleep, he always looks over worked, likely due to how much he cares. Chief Flynn represents the best of police officer while Officer Yanez whom with excessive force shot Mr. Castile recently, without any threats posed is not fit to hold a badge, hopefully he will be appropriately charged with murder. Making guns less accessible in the US will reduce homicides lots of studies to support this. But the gun lobby although small is very politically active.

A key solution is far better gun control in the US, anyone can obtain one with a a very easy to apply for license to own a gun. This is essential to reducing all the gun related violence in the US. Guns are lethal and in the US anyone can buy one at a gun shop in a mall, it is no wonder there are so many very unfortunate homicides in the US, with such easy access to this dangerous weapons. An unstable person or a vulnerable youth on drugs is not a good mix with a gun.

The world economy is slowing down again. Crime will continue to rise with unemployment. According to the government in the United States, 38% of the American population isn't actively working. You can add another 5% of the population is collecting government benefits. A total of 43% of the population isn't working. The solution to crime is creating meaningful jobs and eliminating welfare.

creating meaningful jobs.....dude these kids aren't even making it to the age were they would be employable.... A 15yr killed a 14yr old......The problem is low income and low education. These people need help not the fucking tired bootstrap lecture....
