A GREAT post. Thank you for doing so. Nice to see 261 on "home" rails.

Once PTC is installed, they can probably do more trips under the insurance of BNSF. I really hope they can bring her back to Wisconsin though. Trips on the BNSF to WSOR is not unlikely.

Steve and the gang are always attempting new trips, PTC will be a bonus to help plead their case, you never know what could happen.

Hey! I saw you on the returning trip the next day, also great video

Will 261 ever resume excursions on the Hinckley Sub?
@NorthlandTrains2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there's always a chance, you never know what's up their sleeves. Odds will probably increase whenever PTC is installed on the 261, though.

Someone should get IRM to restore the 265, and if it was painted in Hiawatha livery, oh boy would people have a field day. Those TP&W locos are painted in a Rock Island esk livery
@NorthlandTrains6 жыл бұрын
Not sure the condition of 265, but it would take an extensive effort to restore it.

Keon's Trains I saw it fairly recently, it looks good. They keep it inside. There’s the usual boiler work, but aside from that it looks pretty good

I understand that the Milwaukee Road had another train on that line named " The Columbian ". Is 261 too big for the turntable at Montevideo?
@ryanolearick41745 жыл бұрын
Is there a speed restriction? Looks like it's not going any faster than 30 mph.
@NorthlandTrains5 жыл бұрын
30mph to my knowledge is the track limit, there was a restriction in Cologne were the train was going at most 10mph

That's all they have left after the steam used up constantly shrieking the whistle.

Someone should tell Owosso that their whistle was been stolen
@NorthlandTrains6 жыл бұрын
Uh no, 261 has had that whistle for decades, perhaps 25 years.
@CoalChrome6 жыл бұрын
I know that, I was making a joke, they are very similar sounding whistles
@ckuehncnwhsyt3 жыл бұрын
@@CoalChrome Nice sounding whistle, yes, but it would be sort of nice to hear an occasional snatch of the engine sounds.
