Milwaukee Tool's lineup of ratchet and socket sets will now include ½” drive in addition to the 3/8” and 1/4” drive sets introduced a year ago. The ratchet in all of Milwaukee’s ratchet and socket sets is designed with a slim profile head and 90 teeth delivering 4° of arc swing for better access in tight spaces. The sockets feature a unique FOUR FLAT Side design that stops rolling & allows the socket to be used with a wrench. All sockets are engraved with sizing for lasting readability. Each Ratchet & Socket Set is arranged in a removable inner tray for easy storage.
The new breaker bars are equipped with a 180° pivoting head and a comfortable, ergonomic handle for better leverage. To increase durability, the breaker bars are rust and corrosion-resistant.
All of the information on Milwaukee Tool's new mechanic's tools are below.

I'm very happy with my Tekton 13203 $180 (now SKT25302 with an improved ratchet, $200). It's a larger case, but isn't missing anything. 3/8 - 1-5/16 in., 10-32 mm, no skipped sizes, both in deep and standard depths, and includes some other accessories as well.

So this would be the best option for having the most complete set price wise? I've been searching for days trying to figure out what would be good with no missing sizes.

I assume the stopped the deep metric at 19mm because you could use the sae size. 13/16=21 7/8=22 15/16=24

I love my 1/4 inch drive Milwaukee chrome socket set I love my 3/8 inch drive Milwaukee chrome socket set In 1/2 in drive I love my Milwaukee Impact sockets--I don't own any Chrome sockets in 1/2 inch drive, I do own the extended 1/2 inch Milwaukee Ratchet and the 2nd gen Mid-Torque. The Mid-Torque is my second most used tool: only my LIGHT is used more often! I only work on one vehicle, an F-250 with a 7.3L Diesel

Not if you’ve spent 32 years using your hand around the socket as a guide. It’s quite annoying and even worse when using their impact wrenches. It’s a bit of a gimmick really.

Laser etched markings is a complete fail. Stamped or engraved should be industry standard. That said, it would be really nice if they put the markings on two of the four faces so you don't have to waste time spinning the socket around to see what size it is. IMHO, I'd really like to see the kit go up to larger sockets in a 1/2" drive set but I do like how little space is wasted in that case. I HATE blow molded cases with wasted space making the case overly large. I also really like how the tray lifts out of the case. I'm also a HUGE fan of Tekton's long handle ratchets. Their 1/2" is 24" long and a VERY strong tool. Tekton has also been AMAZING on warranty issues. I broke a ratchet pawl and they fedex overnighted me a repair kit.

Laser etched are mostly worthless after a while in caveman conditions as are the engraved type or whatever they call it, the rolled or stamped will be readable after years of misuse, I have some I used for 35 years from 30ft subsurface in the mud to 70+ stories up in rain and snow, the etched don't last a couple weeks usually

OK let me put things in perspective here, the Gearwrench equivalent set is $150 the SK 47 piece 1/2 6pt is $375-$450 if you buy a set of metric deep 1/2" drive 15 piece sockets from any US manufacturer you are looking at $200 for Proto, Wright and SK they are sold separate from SAE and the ratchet. If you buy a deep set of metric sockets from the tool truck you are paying over $400-$600 for a 15 piece set of metric sockets not including ratchets and extensions and SAE sockets. Milwaukee to me seems like a solid product and $250 you get a lot for your money. I think it's a pretty good deal.

They're made in Taiwan (soon to be China). I give up on hand tools. For the weekend warrior, Quinn is fine. Anything else is just too expensive for the value I'll get out of it in my lifetime.

Peter Petrakis gotta think country, not just what’s good for you. It’s all about supporting each other in our country. What if the military felt that way? “ let someone else fight for your rights” ...yes American made products cost more for a reason, those companies pay good wages with benefits. But American made tools are almost always better then anything else made, but German made tools. .....Also supporting a communist country is wrong. Those cheap tools you buy come at the cost of an Asians being underpaid, in poor working conditions. It funds the Chinese military...

You are aware that even if a company has their manufacturing done offshore there is still a workforce in the base country that needs supporting right? Or you just don’t care about the admin staff, designers, logistics and end retailers who rely on selling tools to stay in business? Typical brainless seppo

Ratchet handle is kinda small. Socket selection as you pointed out could be better. Across the board I’m not impressed with their hand tools especially at the price point. Even if they were cheaper there’s better alternatives. Keep making awesome power tools and skip the hand tools.

I disagree calling these mechanics tool kits; imho weekend warrior kit is accurate. I love Milwaukee, they make some excellent, arguably class leading tools for auto technicians. But the introduction of their m12 torque wrench and these incomplete kits makes me think they need actual mechanics leading the design teams. I want to know if there is a single licensed mechanic who would actually buy the m12 torque wrench or this kit and why? Anybody?

Mechanic. 32 years. M12 made me go airless. 1/2” impact,3/8 ratchet. 2,3,4,6ah batteries used interchangeably. I can go 6 months without needing anything bigger and then it’s just 1 or 2 recalcitrant bolts. We’re a performance shop so we don’t encounter too many rust buckets or tractors. Not impressed with their hand tools though but see plenty of Milwaukee fanboys scoop these up so their stuff all matches and looks pretty. It’s like their service carts the sales rep was trying to sell us a few weeks back (review on this channel) and while I laughed at the price they had incorporated a lot of mods you do yourself to a service cart .... just they charge you dry for it 😂
